💚🤍 RESULT 🤍💚

Our penultimate match of the league season saw the return fixture with the lovely neighbours from down the road, The Queen Bees - Eglwysbach Ladies Football Team. An entertaining game played out earlier in the season saw us share the points, so this promised to be a good match.

And it certainly didn't disappoint, both sides settling early, creating chances, but somehow ending in deadlock at the break, all nicely poised for the second half!

And a quick start it was, the Lionesses finding the net in the first 5 minutes. Some great work in midflield seeing us regain the ball, finding it's way to Liv wide, who whipped in a lovely low cross for Toni to sidefoot a nice finish home. 1-0 ⚽🦁

The Bees found the equaliser just as quick within a few minutes were level 1-1⚽🐝

And almost just as quick, we created our second of the night, a throw in from Antonia, and some great work between Caitlin and Beth, saw the ball played to Liv, to send another lovely cross in for Caitlin to guide the ball home. 2-1 ⚽🦁

Some great football from each team in the last 20 minutes, but unfortunately no further goals the game deserved saw the match out.

Special mention to our returning captain Jo, and also Hayley, so great to see you both back on the pitch after a while out with injuries ❤️

Matchday 15 saw us host CPD Merched Llanrwst Unedig at Swan Road on Monday.

The Roosters found their rhythm quickly and saw themselves to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes.

The pride clawed their way back into the game midway through the first half, a quick break down the wing, with Toni and Beth exchanging a couple of passes around the Llanrwst defence, sending Beth clear to finish well on the half volley 1-2 ⚽🦁

Some good chances and football from both sides followed for the rest of the half, but no further scores on the board at the half time whistle.

Much the same for the second half, both teams probing to add to their account, with the game headed into the final 10 minutes it was the Lionesses who managed to draw level.

Anna regaining possession in midfield, quickly finding Beth, who, with the same haste, controlled and found herself one on one with the keeper, applying a composed finish high into the corner 2-2 ⚽🦁
