As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, we're celebrating someone helping shape the future of Girlguiding 💙

Hannah has been part of guiding from a young age and has taken on a wide range of roles across her journey. She's supported Brownies and Guides as a young leader, leader in training and leader, and now leads with Guides.

Alongside this, she plays an active roles beyond her unit as assistant division commissioner for membership growth, division contact, GAP representative for Bedfordshire, chair of the GAP panel and a Girlguiding Anglia trustee!

She is passionate about growing guiding and making sure young people are heard, and that comes through everything she does.

Hannah, thank you for your commitment, your leadership and the difference you make 💙

This session will showcase the full range of youth opportunities available in Girlguiding Anglia, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Queen’s Guide, Young Leaders, Peer Education and more. It’s a chance for leaders to explore opportunities that help young members grow in confidence, develop their skills and enjoy unforgettable guiding experiences.

Are you an inclusion adviser or part of a county inclusion team? Do you need to raise awareness amongst leaders of Adjustment plans? Do your leaders need support creating plans?

It's Volunteers' Week and today we're celebrating one of our brilliant young volunteers 💙

Amara started as a Rainbow and is now a young leader. She gives her time to support others while continuing her own journey.

Over the years she has taken on challenges, built strong friendships and thrown herself into every opportunity. That confidence really shines through 💫

She is a fantastic example for younger girls in guiding!

We're kicking off Volunteer's Week with a very special thank you 💙

Judith has been part of Girlguiding for almost 50 years. She has supported generations of girls through first meetings, big challenges and unforgettable experiences. Her care and patience have helped so many grow in confidence.

There are countless memories behind her story, and so many lives she has touched along the way!

Danielle Smith celebrates 20 years in Girlguiding Anglia this year, starting at just 5 years old with 5th Great Yarmouth Rainbows.

She’s still part of the same unit today, now volunteering there while working in our region office as member services administrator. It’s a full circle moment that has taken shape over two decades.

Along the way, guiding has opened up opportunities across the world. Danni has travelled to Mexico, Poland and Ghana, building experiences she still looks back on. Closer to home, camping remains one of her favourite parts of guiding and something she continues to enjoy today.

Her journey has also included supporting others. At 22, she became a lead volunteer for Inspire, helping to guide and support the next generation of leaders across the region.

And like so many in guiding, it’s the friendships that have stayed at the centre of it all.

Twenty years on, Danni’s story shows what can grow from those early meetings. Congratulations on this milestone, Danni 💙

Our Snowdonia walking trip has just got back from a lovely social walking weekend! They had amazing weather so enjoyed a trip to the beach as well as several lake dips! A great time was had by all ❤️

The FA have once again offered Girlguiding members and staff complimentary tickets to Wembley!

If you would like to spend a Sunday in the sunshine supporting the women's game then follow the steps below to redeem your complimentary tickets!

1. Go to the FA's website and create an account
2. Once logged in, go to the 'Tickets' tab and select: Adobe Women's FA Cup Final
3. Apply the booking code: AWFACF26GG this will unlock the 'Girlguiding Comp' box offering up to 20 complimentary tickets*
4. You can choose your preferred seating category or select ‘Best Available’. Tickets are first come, first served
*For up to 10 tickets use the 'Standard' booking tab. For 10-20 tickets use the 'Group' booking tab with the same booking code as above.

Carolyn and Alison from our outdoor and adventure volunteer team attended the Duke of Edinburgh Gold celebrations at Buckingham Palace last week! They had a great day meeting many of our young members and others who were receiving their special awards ⭐

Thank you Carolyn and Alison for being such fantastic representatives of Girlguiding Anglia ❤️ A real testament to the many amazing places that Girlguiding can take you!

Tesco are pledging £5,000 for good causes this May – including your unit!

This May, Tesco and easyfundraising have come together again to give a little help to good causes across the UK. Five community focused causes, including guide units, will receive an unrestricted £1,000. And this time, there are more ways to qualify.

If parents, volunteers and your wider community shop with Tesco OR F&F Clothing via easyfundraising by 31 May, your unit will benefit from free cashback donations – and has an improved chance of receiving £1,000 – all courtesy of Tesco!
