After three weeks of hard practice and arranging replacements for other officers we finally delivered a great third degree ceremony for Dave Bamford. Special thanks must go to Kevin Pickering of Marsden within Pennine Valley Lodge for acting as WM and performing the ritual to an amazing standard. Also big thanks to Graham Grishakow for a superb rendition of the traditional history in the third degree. Everyone agreed it was the best they had ever heard. The Candidate Dave Banford thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony and played his part really well indeed. It took a full 2 hours 15 minutes to complete the proceedings as Pendle Lodge perform the full closing from the third degree.
All in all it was a great night of freemasonry and a reward for all of the hard work undertaken by the officers of the Lodge.

Pendle Lodge has a raising ceremony to deliver this Wednesday, and as usual we will be closing in full from the third degree. If you haven't seen this aspect of the ceremony it's certainly worth doing so. Not every lodge includes the full closing.

WBro Gary Williams of Colne Lodge gave a wonderful explanation of the second degree tracing board at Pendle Lodges February meeting.
Bro. Dave Banford was on the receiving end of the lecture and by all accounts thoroughly enjoyed the experience and explanation of the symbols and signs on display.
Thanks to the 10 visiting brethren from Colne and Queens Jubilee for making up the numbers and standing in office where required.

The brightest sock ever seen at a lodge meeting.
The lodge room really lit up last night with the most dazzling socks ever seen at Pendle Lodge, and at an installation meeting to boot. Caused a laugh.

Although we were a bit thin on the ground Pendle Lodge officers delivered a first class passing ceremony and made David Bamford a Fellowcraft Freemason. David conducted himself ably around the lodge and responded to his Fellowcraft questions very well indeed.
October is usually our business lodge meeting when we get all our officers voted in for the November Installation ceremony, but we decided it would also be a good time to pass our latest candidate. It finished later than usual but everyone had a splendid evening.

We are holding a social event at Colne Masonic Hall on the 25th October and would like to invite your brethren to enjoy the evening with us. It's purely an opportunity to have our ladies with us for a good meal and a much needed get together.

Well that went well. Bro Phil Heyworth was passed to the second degree in some style. You could tell the officers had just come back from their summer break as one or two slip ups were added to the event, but by the time he was readmitted everyone had settled down and the ceremony went very well. Phil enjoyed the second degree ritual and was a joy to conduct around the lodge. The WM performed a first rate ceremony assisted by all his officers.
Great start to the second half of the season.

Final week of practice before we pass a brother to the second degree. Traditionally the final practice is the worst of them all, but somehow it all comes together on the night. Fingers crossed.

Pendle lodge member Ritchie Smith advanced his masonic journey and completed his master mason degree by joining Cana Chapter and becoming a Royal Arch Mason. The ritual went very well and Ritchie got through the ceremony with ease, even though he had recently had an operation on his arm. The lodge room was full of happy masons enjoying the evening followed by a lively social board. Pendle Lodge is very proud of Ritchie to have completed his third degree.

Pendle Lodge welcomed it's latest candidate David Bamford into Freemasonry at its May meet. The lodge was supported by many visitors with a huge turnout of 9 members from our mother lodge Queens Jubilee Lodge. The ceremony was ably delivered by the officers and really benefited from several practice sessions and the vast experience of some of its members. Outstanding performances in delivering the NE corner and Ancient charge in the degree. On the whole a very good night for Pendle Lodge.
