On Saturdays our Weekend Wanderers have been getting into their outdoor skills at the Woodland Oasis 🙌

🔥 Recently weve been working a lot on lighting fires and making the most of the natural resources we have. It has been amazing to see how calm and concerted they become working in their fire teams 👬

🥖 Today we made pizza wraps and sticky, gooey hot chocolate cones. They were delicious 😋

Our Weekend Wanderers were suprised to see Kermit (our minibus) missing this morning!

As we had no transport we walked to Ballgrove, in the rain, and got some hot chocolate and cake. It was much needed as we were all pretty soaked 💦 They all sat in the cafe so nicely and even cleaned the table up when we had finished 💚👌

Colne Parish Church, St Bartholomew's Church, Light "Up Colne" event was absolutely amazing 👏 🤩

Last night we took 14 teens to this event and what an experience it was!

🎶 Excellent music that had us dancing all night 🎶

💬 Raw lived experience stories, that captured our young peoples minds and souls 💚

🌟 Our young people truly lit up the event with their energy, enthusiasm and engagement in the event 🌟

What an inspiration the bands, artists and key speakers were 💭

These are exactly the kinds of events our young people should be exposed to 🙌💪

Mondays 6:45pm - 9.15pm
Wednesdays 4:15pm - 6:45pm
Wednesdays 6:45pm - 9:15pm

🥞 You will have excellent cooking skills and can cook to a nutritious and healthy menu.

🏆 This must be in accordance with our consecutive 5 star food hygiene standards and our Gold Recipe 4 Health Award criteria.

🏋‍♀️ Training will be provided and you will be cooking for the young people who come to our open access youth sessions.

Today, at our Woodland Oasis, we were very busy learning skills.

🔥 They learned how to use the resources around them to help light and keep their fires going for a minimum of 20 minutes. The youngest of the group got hers going first and kept it going for over 30 minutes 😍💯💥

🪵 Some of the group learned how to whittle wood to make shapes. We worked on making little fairy houses. Working with knives is tricky and risky so they had to learn to keep a good distance between themselves and others and whittle away from their bodies 🗡

🚩 They played capture the flag, learning to work together as a team and communicate effectively with one another in order to get their opponents flag and win the game 🏆
