Tame Valley Wetlands Tame Valley Wetlands is a Partnership Project led by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust We also offer accredited qualifications.

Tame Valley Wetlands Landscape Partnership Scheme is a non-profit organisation, creating a landscape rich in wildlife and accessible to all. We are led by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We have volunteering opportunities available as well as community engagement through courses and events. We've helped to improve wetland habitats across the Tame Valley area and will continue to do so with the help of the North Warwickshire/south-east Staffordshire community. From installing Sand Martin banks to re-profiling the River Tame, our work is landscape-scale, with help from our 20+ partners, including: RSPB, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Environment Agency, Canal & River Trust, Warwickshire County Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. We've been e-fishing with Trent Rivers Trust on the River Blythe, helping us build a better picture of the wildlife living in our rivers. 🐟

Electrofishing is a widely used scientific technique that helps us understand the fish populations living in our rivers.

When carried out by trained specialists, it allows fish to be surveyed and returned to the water while minimising stress and injury.

The data we collected will help us monitor the river's health and guide our future work to improve habitat for wildlife. 🐟🌿💧

We've been working on the River Cole and its tributary, the Kingshurst Brook, to restore nature to the river.

By 're-wiggling' the river we have helped bring back some of its natural processes and features.

The added bends to the river banks add lots of fantastic habitat for wildlife, create areas of fast and slow flowing water, and help clean the water by trapping sediment.

A massive thanks to our volunteers and contractors at Practicality Brown for their work as part of this project.

Massive thank you to 20:20 Innovation for their huge help this week at Hams Hall Environmental Centre.

The team gave the offices and classroom a well-needed paint (goodbye old grey walls, hello fresh new blue walls!), removed invasive Himalayan Balsam from the woods, and managed the vegetation in the yard and education area.

The space looks fantastic now, and we're so grateful for the team's support!

🍪 Of course, Tame Force are 'compensated' with tea and biscuits during work days... as you scroll through can you guess which was our most popular biscuit purchase this year? So much so that admin was the TOP buyer in the local Sainsburys...
