🎨 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 🎨

The Arts Council NI is offering grants of £1,000 to £10,000 to support arts and creative activities for older people!

Applications are open to:

✅ Constituted community and voluntary groups working with older people
✅ Charities and non-governmental organisations
✅ Arts organisations and local councils

Projects must involve partnership working with older people's groups and include artists or arts organisations. Funding is particularly focused on tackling loneliness and isolation, improving wellbeing and encouraging older people to take part in creative activities.

📅 Applications close Thursday 22 October at 12 noon.

We’re really pleased to say that our foodbank is now fully up and running — and it’s there for anyone who needs a bit of help. Maybe you’re struggling yourself…. Maybe you know someone who is. Either way, don’t overthink it…. just get in touch. You can call in, grab a cuppa, have a chat and we’ll get you sorted….. or drop us a msg and we’ll make arrangements that suit.

And this is something we want the whole community to get behind. If you’ve got a few extra tins in the cupboard, a packet of pasta, cereal, biscuits or other long-life foods…. bring them in. We’re so pleased to already have seen some incredible generosity from people locally, and we’re genuinely grateful. And the more we can build up our shelves, the more people we can help.

Food for LIFE is here…. let’s make sure nobody who needs a little help, feels like they have nowhere to turn.

🌎 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 10•10•26 🌍

Today is a reminder that mental health matters, today and every day.

Not every struggle is visible. Behind every smile, there may be a battle that you know nothing about.

✨It’s okay to not be okay.
✨It’s okay to ask for help.
✨It’s okay to take a break.
✨It's okay to put yourself first
✨And it’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling.

A simple conversation, a listening ear, or a small act of kindness can make a bigger difference than you may realise.

At Ballymoney Community Fridge, we believe community is about more than sharing food. It’s about supporting one another, building friendships and making sure nobody feels alone.

Check in on your friends, your family, your neighbours — and most importantly, check in with yourself.

Remember, you are valued, you matter, and you are never alone.
