🌟 A Big Thank You to Progressive Building Society! 🌟

We are incredibly grateful to Progressive Building Society for their generous donation of £1,000 to support our Oasis Centre here at Ashes to Gold

This funding will make a real difference—helping us with essential running costs and enabling us to purchase new furniture for our downstairs counselling room. This space is especially important as it is used by individuals with mobility challenges, and these improvements will ensure it is welcoming, comfortable, and accessible for everyone who needs it

Your kindness and commitment to supporting our work means so much, and it helps us continue providing vital services to our community

Thank you, Progressive Building Society, for believing in what we do and standing alongside us 💛

Many men in Northern Ireland live under constant control without realising it is abuse, we are here to help in our private online MANi Support Group (NI)

Coercive control can include:

➡️Being told who you can see
➡️Having your phone checked
➡️Being isolated from family or friends
➡️Being threatened with losing access to your children, or interfering with access once out.
➡️Being constantly monitored or interrogated

Over time, this destroys confidence and independence.

Many men describe feeling trapped in their own home. Some develop anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts because they feel there is no safe way out.

Domestic abuse is not always physical.

Control is abuse, whether it is a heterosexual or gay relationship.

Mens Alliance are here to help in our online private MANi Support Group (NI), an amazing community of thousands of local men who have been there too. We have got your back.

We will get you through this, because we have been there too. We are available for same day call back at [email protected]

Other services to help are the Domestic & Sexual Abuse Helpline available 24hrs a day and Men's Action Network NI in the North West.

Bryon is our 80 year old pool champion, who lost 3 games in a row on friday.
He shook Gareths hand and rushed to the toilet were we listened to him crying !!!
Bryon only used 1 toilet roll this time to wipe his tears, unlike last week were he used 2 toilet rolls for losing 4 games. LOL
If you can suggest anthing to improve Bryons game, it would be most helpful LOL

I have recently become aware of individuals offering paid support to help people complete Personal Independence Payment applications. People are often charged over £100 which is a significant amount of money.

For many, these forms can be difficult to navigate, so it is understandable that people would look for help, and in some cases choose to pay for that support.

However, it is important to be mindful that the quality of advice can vary, and that any mistakes or inaccuracies in an application can have real consequences. Given how important these applications are to people’s financial security and independence, it is so important to make sure the information is correct.

While many people offering support may be trying to help, it highlights the importance of ensuring that any advice received is accurate and reliable.

There are free advice services available, and they remain an important option for anyone who needs support with their application.
