What a great night we had for our March meeting. We were entertained with some beautiful Irish dancing.

We had some great entrants for the Area competition, well done to all involved.

Mary educated us all on how to grow a “bulb lasagna “ , looking forward to trying this out in the autumn! .

Mary and Pat read out some beautiful Irish poetry.

We ended the night with a beautiful supper of apple tart with fresh cream and a cuppa. 🥧☕️

Thanks to Lillian our president for organising such a great night and thanks to Gillian for our lovely Easter gifts.🐣

Today we had our annual lunch in the Royal Court Hotel, Portrush.

We had a very tasty carvery lunch , followed by dessert with tea or coffee. A big thank you to all the waiting staff who were attentive to us all.

We had a raffle, which is as always very popular and well supported, £145 was raised today from it .

Our entertainment was from the “Coastal vocals “, a fun based group based in Portrush town hall on a Monday night . They sang songs from all genres, our ladies had a brilliant time singing along with them .

A special thanks to Janette for obtaining a grant from “the community fund “ to pay for us to have our lunch.

Last but not least a big thanks to Lillian for being our president the past year. She has been a fabulous president, made for the job. 💐

We had a fun night in Armoy representing Portrush WI in the table quiz and the bowls .

Ann,Dymhna and Amanda got third in the quiz . Janette was the runner up in the bowls.

We had a great night with a lovely supper afterwards.

The Federation of Women’s Institutes NI is thrilled to launch our first-ever Charity of the Year, and we’d love our members to help choose it. WI women across Northern Ireland already do remarkable charitable work, and this new initiative will allow us to unite behind one cause, strengthen our impact, and create a meaningful programme of fundraising, awareness, and community engagement. We want to hear which charities matter most to you.
Those you’ve been supported by, admire, or feel passionate about. From your suggestions, three will be shortlisted and showcased at the AGM in March 2026, where members will vote for the charity we’ll champion together. This is a chance to celebrate our shared values, amplify our voice, and show what WI women can achieve collectively.

We're ahead of the game! No paper/plastic cups are going into landfill from our monthly meetings. We always bring our own cup for tea/coffee. Does it matter what kind of cup you have your tea or coffee in? Stoneware, bone China, glass... what do you prefer?

We had a wonderful visitors night on Monday 8th . We hosted WI members from all around the north coast, in all we had 63 members for supper.

Maud Steele and Pearl Hutchinson entertained us with the stories of Christmas’s past and reminiscing on their childhoods .

It was a great night of laughter and fun mixed with a cup of tea and lovely home baked goods.

Thanks to all our members for setting up the hall and providing the food for the evening.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

See you in January in the White House on the 26th at 2pm .
