Today marked the first meeting with our new leadership team, and the new top table took the reins for the first time.

They did a fantastic job, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the year ahead brings!

We also officially welcomed our newest member, Marcel Larose from Unleashed Digital. Marcel is no stranger to BNI, and it’s great to have him joining us at Iceni. 👏
There was plenty to celebrate this week too!

Ben Herbert - Become the Unstoppable was named our Chapter Champion, as voted for by the top table.
Paul Gardener was congratulated after referring an incredible £240,000+ worth of business in September alone! (Nope, that's not a typo!)

- Paul Jeavons took the award for most referrals, passing an impressive 39 in September!
- Stephanie Blythe was recognised for bringing a visitor along to the chapter.
- DC Megan Berry presented gifts to our previous top table to thank them for all their hard work over the last 18 months.

This week’s BNI Oscar went to David Bright! 🏆

We also had an emotional moment when Carla Beard from Koala Digitalgave a testimonial to Liz Connelly from Maxwell Enki, sharing just how much of a difference her coaching has made to her business, confidence and focus. ❤️

After an incredible 18 months, our current leadership and support teams are handing over the reins and making way for a new team.

A little midweek social for BNI Iceni! 🥘🍻

Tonight we swapped referrals and one-to-ones for curry and a catch-up at Rim Jhim’s in Colchester.

And as you’d expect, the conversation covered all the important business topics… 😂

Ghost stories, stories about forgetting stories, hen dos, stag dos and, perhaps the most controversial topic of the evening, are Indian dishes for sharing, or are you ordering your own and keeping everyone else’s fork well away?! 🍛😂

We’re not sure any major business decisions were made, but we definitely learnt a few things about each other!

BNI might be about building businesses and passing referrals, but evenings like this are a great reminder that it’s also about the friendships and relationships you build along the way.

Great food, lots of laughs and not a 45-second timer in sight! ❤️

What a way to round off the last 18 months at BNI Iceni! 🙌

Yesterday’s guest speaker was Esther Feltham from Eyespeak. Esther may be new to Iceni, but she certainly isn’t new to the world of design or BNI!

We discovered that Esther could speak fluent Russian at just six years old, has been in the industry for 25 years and has a Master’s in Creative History. 🎨

She also showed us some of her incredible work, including branding she’s created for Naturalize, Wordsmith and Disability4Sport. It was great to see just how much thought and creativity goes into the brands she creates.

This week’s BNI Oscar went to Mark Wingate from Custom Stitches . 🏆👏

It was also the final meeting for our current BNI leadership roles, with a new team taking over next week. To mark the end of the term, the top table shared some pretty impressive statistics from the last 18 months…

Another brilliant meeting this week.

This week’s BNI Oscar went to Esther Feltham from Eyespeak who has recently joined our chapter and taken the Design seat. A thoroughly deserved win! 👏

Our guest speaker was Stef, who shared her amazing journey with Tropic. 🌿

Stef originally joined Tropic back in 2020 because she loved the products, their green ethos and what they were doing for her skin. Plus, she fancied getting a cheeky discount!

Fast forward to today and she’s built an incredible team of 50 women who are sharing their love of Tropic and earning an additional income along the way. 💚

One of the highlights of Stef’s journey was being selected as part of a small group of ambassadors who travelled to Nepal to open Tropic’s fifth school. It was amazing to hear about the difference Tropic’s charitable giving has made and for Stef to have experienced that impact first-hand. 🇳🇵

Stef would love introductions to:

✨ Anyone interested in earning some extra income while sharing their love of beauty and skincare

🎄 Workplaces that would like a Tropic Christmas pop-up, where staff can get some Christmas shopping done at work and Stef will even wrap the presents!

It's a service we've been hunting for to join the room for some time, so it's a pleasure to have you.

Stuart Mckenzie of SM Decorators gave a brilliant presentation, sharing all about his previus expeirence and how he ended up running his business. Plus, he shared some insights about different paint brands we all know which was incredibly helpful 🧠

Last, but not least - Stuart Simpson of Simpson & Summer Construction won the Oscar this week for an on time, specific and all round great 45 seconds.

Sarp Mercan of Kilij brought us into the world of AI, specifically into the world where AI helps catering & event companies respond to ALL of their enuquiries within 5 minutes. Impressive 😏

The winner of the 45 seconds this week was me... Joe Land of Social Land. It even meant Liz Owers had to step in as photographer to capture the moment the social media man became the oscar winner 🤣
