On this Su***de Prevention Day 2026, our thoughts go to all who are struggling with Suicidal thoughts or who have been affected by Su***de. We are working to provide increased clinical based services to really make a difference and are proud that last year we only lost 1 of c.400 clients - a rate of 0.25%, compared to an expected rate for PD alone of 8-10%.

Very sad to hear today that Papyrus, the charity supporting young people at risk of su***de, have gone into Administration after c.30 years due to difficult funding conditions, reported as rising demand, increased trading costs, and “a reduction in reliable funding across the sector” meaning that a way forward could not be found.

As a fellow charity working with high su***de risks, and rising demand for people with Personality Disorders, Complex Trauma and c-PTSD, with funding challenges of our own, unreliable funding and lack of long term contracts, it is a challenging time and we sympathise greatly with the Papyrus team at this difficult time.

Our hearts also go out to those clients affected by this closure who will now lose this valuable support.

If you are able to support us, or any other charity, particularly small charities without government funding, now is the time to do so! The charity will greatly appreciate every penny.

Calling all our male clients! With Personality Disorders and Complex Trauma affecting more women than men, it is often the case that groups are more dominated by women, and that can put men off speaking out and not having to mask their feelings and thoughts. Following client requests, we have launched our new Men's Group, with the help of our wonderful Masters student, Ryan. Come along and find out more and use this valuable space to have your voice heard.

We are delighted to have launched our new STEPPS Programme, with the amazing Helen Cruickshank leading this programme, who was fundamental in the development of the STEPPS programme for EUPD for the NHS. A wonderful addition to our services!

Are you waiting for our Foundation Course? This is the course you need to complete as part of your registration with us, whether you have self-referred or been referred by another organisation/NHS.

We have good news! Our current booking list for Colchester for a course is full until November, however, we have spaces available to start on Monday - yes this Monday 3rd August - at our Braintree group, based at the wonderful FirstStop site, Bocking End, near to the Council Offices.

Runs from 1:30 - approx 3:15 each Monday for 6 weeks.
