HEARTBREAK

We took our little Chippy for her emergency appt yesterday and had devastating news. The bloodwork results showed she is in stage 4 kidney disease, is severely anaemic and has limited time left, probably no more than a week or 2. She showed no symptoms other than a slow, almost imperceptible decline in weight over the last few months then suddenly a much more rapid weight loss over the last week or so, which is why we booked her in to see the vet today. Over the weekend it became very apparent that she couldn't wait, which was why we made an emergency appt for her yesterday. Sadly, there is nothing they can do for her, apart from a blood transfusion at a specialist vet (way out of our reach unfortunately) so all we can give her now is palliative care and make sure she feels comfortable and very, very much loved for however long she has left. This quiet, gentle little girl has been my constant companion for 12 years, sleeping alongside me every night and has been a sweet, purry presence accompanying me during the day. I can't imagine my life without her, my little Chippy Chip Chips :(

The cost at the vet yesterday was just over £320 so we didn't have enough and had to rob our housekeeping to cover it, leaving us short there with nothing left in the pot. We also now have nothing to help chip away at what we already owe the vet or to buy the flea treatments we need for the rest of the gang either (we made sure Chippy got hers). HEARTBREAKING UPDATE:
Our little Chippy Chips went OTRB on Sunday and we are just devastated. She was sunning herself in the garden on Saturday, a bit wobbly but very much enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. It was an awful shock to find her collapsed in the early afternoon on Sunday, barely breathing but holding on. I held her in my arms and told her it was ok to let go so she could be with her darling brofur Chewy and within a few small gasps she just slipped away. She was my baby, my faithful little companion for 12 years. so sweet and gentle and so very much loved. RIP my beautiful girl, we will miss you always. Never forgotten ♥

This is our darling Chippy Chips. A dear, sweet little girl who has slept alongside my pillow with her paw laid softly on my cheek for the last 12 years. She is a very quiet, loving little puss, adored by us and our whole gang. A gentle, calming, purry presence who is just simply always there. We absolutely love her to bits. Chippy has lost a lot of weight recently and needs to have her bloods done asap. Sadly, we have had so much expense at the rescue lately that our piggybank is completely empty and we simply cannot cover the £200 or so (appt. £50, bloods £150) needed to get her seen by our vet. We are desperately worried about her and need to get her seen as soon as possible. If you can help us with a donation towards those costs, no matter how small, we would be so grateful. HEARTBREAK ON TOP OF HEARTBREAK 😢
This year alone we have already had to say goodbye to 4 of our beloved long-term sanctuary residents and today we have had to make an appt at the vet for our darling Leo to be pts; he has a squamous cell carcinoma (like Daisy), which has burst. We are absolutely devastated and worn down by the grief of it all and the pain. Leo is a most wonderful cat who is very much loved by us all but especially by Steve, whom he chose as his person when he first arrived here with his sisfur Cleo and has been devoted to ever since. He is such a character, so loving and such as big part of our lives. Oh, how we will miss him 😢

Our darling Little Missy went OTRB today. She will be met there by her best furiends Misty and Amy, who left us in recent weeks and her brofur Buster who went to the bridge last year. She fought the cancer so hard for months and months but, sadly, it became too much for her and we had to say a tearful goodbye. She was 15 years old and came to us as a leave behind along with Buster, who followed on a few days later and got his ears boxed for his trouble. She was a very timid little giirl, scared of almost everyone and was very good at 'disappearing', especially when it was time for a vet visit. Of late she became very attached to Amy and Misty and the three of them could often be found curled up together in one bed. She was a gentle little soul and she will be so missed. RIP Missy - you were very much loved ♥

We have had a huge amount of vet and cremation fees already this year and have more coming soon as we have several other terminally ill kitties here at the sanctuary. Please keep our 19 yr old Daisy in your thoughts. When she first arrived here last autumn, she had a small lesion on the right side of her face beside her nose. It has not responded to meds, but has been growing and is now a large open sore almost up to her eye. She has seen the vet again today (£110+) and has had a change of antibiotics plus eyedrops and Metacam and is on cage rest with a buster collar to stop her scratching at it. The vet has warned us that these kind of problems are very difficult to clear up and we are so worried about her. She is such a dear little thing and we would so like to help her get better.

Early yesterday morning, our beautiful 17 yr old Misty went OTRB cuddled in her daddy's arms. She was an absolute darling, so sweet and so gentle and loved by everyone here. She had had heart problems for some time along with fluid build up and was due to the vet for another check-up tomorrow.We are absolutely devastated and will miss her quiet presence so much. RIP beautiful girl, you were loved so much ♥

Loving new home wanted.

This is 10 year old Snoopy. He is an extremely loving and affectionate Bengal X. His family recently took in a stray who has become very attached to his new mum but has taken against Snoopy who is being picked on constantly. He needs a new home where he can relax and settle without being in fear of being attacked. Could you offer this lovely boy a safe, secure, loving home where he can happily spend the rest of his days in peace?
