UPDATE 10/09/25
Our darling little Cleo, whom we loved so very much, went OTRB on Tuesday 8th September to join her brofur Leo. We are both numb with pain at her loss. RIP beautiful girl, you will never be forgotten :'( ♥

UPDATE: 07/09/26
We are absolutely heartbroken. We have discovered that our little Cleo has a mass inside her which our vet discovered with a scan. He is not sure if it is on her liver or kidneys, but doesn't think she is in any pain Also, her tummy is full of fluid, no wonder she doesn't want to eat. We were given some tablets to reduce the fluid, which don't appear to have worked at all. They told me to up the dose from a quarter to a half twice daily, but she is still very bloated although we have been told it can take up to a week to have a noticeable effect. We have continued with syringe feeding but she is very weak and noticeably losing strength every day. We are so fearful that we will lose her soon. She has been my special baby for the last 12 years ever since she got her head caught in the loop of an igloo bed and somehow managed to get from the top of the wardrobe in the bedroom, down onto the floor, along the landing and into our office, with her eyes bulging and gasping for breath dragging this huge bed which was strangling the life out of her. I don't know how she managed it and it was very hard to cut through the loop which was round and round her throat, but somehow I did it and I have been mummy to a very brave, determined little girl ever since. We absolutely adore her. Please remember her in your thoughts. 😢

Cleo lost her brofur Leo earlier this year, they were very close. For the last week or so she has hardly been eating anything at all, just a nibble or 2 and then she stops. We have attempted syringe feeding, which has not been totally successful, but we did get some food into her and will continue with that and also keep offering her her favoutite foods (chicken, tuna, fish) etc. She is my baby and we are very worried about her. :'(

UPDATE 6: Luna had the feeding tube removed last Friday as she was eating on her own. Since then she has gone from strength to strength and is eating well. She prefers soft foods and pates and is absolutely in love with Dreamies. She is really doing well. :)

UPDATE 5: Luna has been doing well on tube feeding and was checked by the vet nurse yesterday to make sure everything was ok. She cleaned the wound, supplied more antibiotics and made an appt for her to see the vet on Friday. We were told that they only like to have a feeding tube fitted for 5 days but we will not be rushed into having it removed until we are satisfied she is eating well for herself. Meanwhile, whilst Luna is showing no interest whatsoever in any type of wet food, she was tempted to eat a few treats. It is a start. :)

UPDATE 4: Luna is home. She is rather grumpy but will still be a bit d***y due to the anaesthetic. She had 1 feed at the vet so the next one will be around 8ish. She is currently sulking on her bed shelf at the back of the pen. Hopefully she will forgive us soon, once she has slept it off ♥

UPDATE 3: Luna went in for her feeding tube op this morning at 8am. We were advised that, because of her condition, she is at a greater risk of not pulling through. Please keep her in your thoughts. ♥ Just heard from vet and she has pulled through ok, We are to collect her at 5pm. :)

UPDATE 2: Thank you all so much. We now have sufficient funds to cover all Luna's treatment and she is booked in for her feeding tube to be fitted tomorrow. We are truly grateful for your kind donations and shares and so very relieved. Will update you with Luna's progress going forward. Bless you all ♥♥♥

UPDATE 1:
Day 6 and Luna is still not eating. Our vet advised us this morning that the next step was bloods, which is £150 or pts as, if this goes on any longer, her organs will start to be affected. We had her bloods done but there was nothing conclusive other than a slightly raised inflammation response probably due to some minor infection. As a result of this, the vet is now recommending a feeding tube or we try to syringe feed her (I did that last night but she was very uncooperative, totally stressed out by it and I only manage to get about 5ml of the recovery food into her). I will try again today but she really needs a feeding tube fitted immediately at an additional cost of £400. The vet bill is already over £250, which we have to pay today and we have to let them know if we can commit to the additional £400 so they can fit that tomorrow. Any and all donations would be so gratefully received, she is only a baby and deserves every chance at a full recovery and a happy life. Can you help us? We would be so very grateful ♥
EMERGENCY APPEAL

This is Luna. She came to us a few weeks back having been handed in to a vet as a stray with terrible skin problems due to a flea allergy. The vet nurse who contacted us told us that her time was up and, as she hadn't been able to place her with any local rescues, we were her last resort. We simply couldn't say no! Since she has been here her skin problem has completely cleared up and, from the very shy, scared little girl who first arrived she has turned into a sweet, loving little puss who is just adorable. She was doing so well! However, since supper on Friday she has eaten nothing at all, is very miserable and has been bringing up froth repeatedly. Monday's vet visit could find nothing wrong, no obvious problems but she came home with a bottle of rehydration fluid which she will not touch. She has lost a lot of weight and has become very weak. We took her to our vet again today and she has been found to be severely dehydrated and we have been given fluids so we can do subcuts at home. She has had bloods done and has been prescribed some antibiotics too but she may well need to go back tomorrow for further investigations if there is no significant improvement today and possibly be fitted with a feeding tube as well. She is really very ill and whilst we do not know what she has been through before, bless her, we do know we must do everything we can for her now. She is so young (18 mths old or so) and deserves nothing less. However, we have no idea how we are going to pay for everything as, after all this year's expenses so far, our piggy bank is now completely empty. We really do need your help. We said goodbye to our beautiful Queenie on Sunday and we are just devastated. She was the most wonderful little girl, very sweet and gentle and always perfectly turned out with not a hair out of place. She used to sit on that barrel at teatime and suppertime, nudging me from behind to remind me she was there and awaiting her meal. Such a dear little soul and a genuinely lovely kitty. How we miss her already and always will. RIP gorgeous girl, we loved you so much ♥

HEARTBREAK

We took our little Chippy for her emergency appt yesterday and had devastating news. The bloodwork results showed she is in stage 4 kidney disease, is severely anaemic and has limited time left, probably no more than a week or 2. She showed no symptoms other than a slow, almost imperceptible decline in weight over the last few months then suddenly a much more rapid weight loss over the last week or so, which is why we booked her in to see the vet today. Over the weekend it became very apparent that she couldn't wait, which was why we made an emergency appt for her yesterday. Sadly, there is nothing they can do for her, apart from a blood transfusion at a specialist vet (way out of our reach unfortunately) so all we can give her now is palliative care and make sure she feels comfortable and very, very much loved for however long she has left. This quiet, gentle little girl has been my constant companion for 12 years, sleeping alongside me every night and has been a sweet, purry presence accompanying me during the day. I can't imagine my life without her, my little Chippy Chip Chips :(

The cost at the vet yesterday was just over £320 so we didn't have enough and had to rob our housekeeping to cover it, leaving us short there with nothing left in the pot. We also now have nothing to help chip away at what we already owe the vet or to buy the flea treatments we need for the rest of the gang either (we made sure Chippy got hers). Any help you can offer would be so greatfully received. Thank you so much ♥

HEARTBREAKING UPDATE:
Our little Chippy Chips went OTRB on Sunday and we are just devastated. She was sunning herself in the garden on Saturday, a bit wobbly but very much enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. It was an awful shock to find her collapsed in the early afternoon on Sunday, barely breathing but holding on. I held her in my arms and told her it was ok to let go so she could be with her darling brofur Chewy and within a few small gasps she just slipped away. She was my baby, my faithful little companion for 12 years. so sweet and gentle and so very much loved. RIP my beautiful girl, we will miss you always. Never forgotten ♥

This is our darling Chippy Chips. A dear, sweet little girl who has slept alongside my pillow with her paw laid softly on my cheek for the last 12 years. She is a very quiet, loving little puss, adored by us and our whole gang. A gentle, calming, purry presence who is just simply always there. We absolutely love her to bits. Chippy has lost a lot of weight recently and needs to have her bloods done asap. Sadly, we have had so much expense at the rescue lately that our piggybank is completely empty and we simply cannot cover the £200 or so (appt. £50, bloods £150) needed to get her seen by our vet. We are desperately worried about her and need to get her seen as soon as possible. If you can help us with a donation towards those costs, no matter how small, we would be so grateful.
