Colchester Caring for Our Cats

On Paddy’s Day he went in the trap…..

Paddy was trapped this afternoon after we received a call about a known stray boy dragging his back leg in the near the Willows in Colchester.

Paddy is clearly not neutered and no chip detected.

He also has another cat’s claws embedded in his head.

Local enquiries have not located any family for Paddy.

It’s really upsetting to be constantly trapping un neutered cats…..

Seeing their suffering, their struggling and the awful injuries …….

Safe now Paddy……

Born in 626 in Belguim. St Gertrude is the Patron Saint of Cats and today is her day.

During her life as a nun, she favoured mice, travellers and those suffering from mental illness. Her biggest love being cats.
So could she have been the original Crazy Cat Lady??

Now immortalised as a Saint.

Gordon is going from strength to strength……

Now meeting the resident cats!!

He has his dental this week…..

It’s hard to believe this is the same boy we trapped 3 weeks ago!!

He so deserves a life of love and not a life of struggling……

Thank you for all the support out there for him….

He so needed help.

Happy Cat Mother’s Day to all the little girls out there who struggled to support their kittens …..

Born outside, born into neglect……

The little cats go above and beyond to raise their kittens in the worst situations……

And thankfully once safe, the cycle is stopped and they get some their lives back….

Hannah was 9 months old when trapped with 2 kittens and pregnant again…..

They deserve the best this Cat Mother’s Day after experiencing the worst…..

We all love sending and receiving flowers to mark a special day or just let that special person know you care.

When ordering, you can ask the florist to make a pet friendly bouquet.
When purchasing remember that some flowers and plants are highly toxic to our fur babies.
They don't need to even eat them, pollen on fur that is cleaned off later can cause as much damage.
Poisoning can be fatal.

If you suspect your pet has ingested a toxic plant, flower or food item please contact vets immediately.

Signs can include....
*vomiting
*excessive drinking or urinating
*lethargy
*increased pulse rate
*drooling or foaming at the mouth

Keep the remains of what has been ingested, it will help vets hugely with treatment to know potential amounts and source.

We love flowers....but we love our pets more.
