The Charity was established to enable people with learning disabilities to access leisure and social activities in the community and to have opportunities for personal development including self advocacy. The Charity c

ampaigns for and with people with learning disabilities for their rights and works with other organisations and groups for the benefit of people with learning disabilities. Colchester Gateway Clubs actively promote campaigns that are important for people with a learning disability. We have been involved with the “Stay up late” initiative, Essex Safeguarding Adults, “Its my life”, Safe Relationships project, Anti Bullying and Anti Discrimination. In addition, service navigation, referral and advocacy is available where appropriate. These objectives are supported by entrance fees, donations and fundraising activities. The Charity employs professional staff who carry out the week to week running of the clubs.

Despite the high temperatures expected this week, Gateway will be going ahead as planned.

Thursday club we will have water activities outside , please bring a towel and a change of clothes ….

Art in the park will be inside the community 360 building

Please remember that attendance at Gateway on Friday evening is entirely your choice. If you feel the weather may make it uncomfortable or unsafe for you to attend, please do what is best for you.

We will continue to monitor the weather and conditions closely. If anything changes, we will make another post to keep everyone informed.

Stay hydrated, keep cool, and take care in the heat! We look forward to seeing those who are able to join us ☀️

Tomorrow is going to be another hot day, so at Thursday club we will now have an afternoon of water activities and have fun in the sun . We will not be cooking as planned .
Hope to see many of you there , if you would like to bring a towel and a spare t shirt please do 😌
