At pre-school this week we have been making the most of the remaining good weather ☀️ with lots of outside play & learning opportunities.
We have been continuing to work alongside our children’s interests with our intended learning outcomes, utilising the vehicles, incorporating numerals/quantities, encouraging recognition through their play.
Our outdoor play opportunities include building upon our climbing/balancing skills, and developing awareness of personal risk during their Gross motor exploration…

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and see you next week! 😊

Our Preschool has had a GLOW UP!

After lots of planning and hard work, we’re so excited to finally share the transformation of Christ Church Preschool!

Our preschool has been given a fabulous fresh new look, with some brilliant improvements to create a brighter, more practical and welcoming space for our children and staff ✨

There are far too many lovely changes to squeeze into one Facebook post… so we’ve put them all together for you to see!

👀 Want to see the full transformation?

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for the funding that made our Preschool Glow Up possible, and to the Tudwick Foundation for their generous grant which enabled us to give our much-used toy cupboard a very welcome update. ❤️

And, of course, a big thank you to everyone who helped bring the transformation to life! ✨

Welcome back to pre-school everyone….. 🙂

We hope you all had a wonderful Summer break ☀️

During this term we will be focusing on ‘settling in’ ‘learning the routine’ and ‘building relationships’ with the peers and adults within the setting.

With this in mind, it would be lovely if the children were able to bring in photographs of themselves and their immediate families to share at circle time.

If you are happy to participate, please bring the photos into pre-school in a named envelope and hand to a staff member for safe keeping.

To continue our ‘home/pre school’ links, it would be wonderful if the children would like to bring in a favourite story book they enjoy at home/bedtime.
If any of these books were to include ‘Traditional tales’ this would be particularly helpful as this is something we will also be introducing into pre-school over the coming weeks.
(Please remember to clearly label the books with the child’s name)

Many thanks for your support. 🙂

We would like to say a massive thank you to all of our families for the kindness and support you have given us over this academic year.

We are so grateful for the group gift from our parents & carers of a brand new iPad for our preschool, it was such a thoughtful and generous gift - and for all of the lovely end of term gifts and cards, Thank you all, we really appreciate it.

We wish you all a happy summer break, and best of luck to all of our school leavers heading to primary school in September.

And to our returning children and new families, we are excited to work with you all and to be able to experience our fully newly refurbished preschool in September.

This week has been filled with activities and discussion of ‘Around the World’ 🌍
The children have been learning about the heritage of some of the adults in our pre-school as well as the children’s countries of birth and languages spoken.
We have had lots of exciting talk about the countries we have visited on holiday and some of the words we have learnt to speak whilst there.
The children have participated in numerous role-play scenario’s of the different types of holidays we have all experienced, for example the children were ‘camping’ around the campfire and going on an aeroplane to their holiday destination! ☀️

We have had a busy, fun filled week at pre-school, with visits from a nurse (to support our theme of people who help us) our sports coach visit on a Wednesday afternoon, and observing our caterpillars form into cocoons 🐛
We have had lots of opportunities for outdoor learning and play in the sunny weather, alongside experiencing lots of activities supporting our theme as well as the children’s interests!
Just a few reminders:-
Monday 4th- Bank holiday
Tuesday 5th - Inset Day
Wednesday- Back to Pre-School!
For the next 10 days our focus within preschool will be on ‘The environment, recycling, refuse & gardening’
We hope you all have an enjoyable long weekend, see you all on Wednesday ☺️☀️

To support our theme of ‘People who help us’ the children have been exploring Construction workers this week, to enhance this we have focused on the story ‘3 Little Pigs’ and how they build their homes from Bricks/Straw/Sticks….
