Emmaus Colchester is a homelessness charity providing more than just a bed for the night to people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion. We provide a home for as long as someone needs it and meaningful work in our social enterprise. Living in a stable environment with the opportunity to work helps our companions, as residents are known, to regain lost self-esteem and the confidence to get back on their feet.

Our range of recycled ReColour paint is a colourful, sustainable way to get the job done! 🌈♻️

Through our Decorating Hub, we partner with Recipro, an organisation using innovative technology to transform leftover and surplus paint into high-quality new products. 💚

🎨 ReColour paint is filtered, treated and blended to create:

Thanks to a very generous donation from local fundraising group King Coel’s Kittens, it's a dedicated space where our companions can build valuable digital and IT skills. 🙌

These skills will help our companions grow in confidence, support their roles within our social enterprises and prepare them for future employment opportunities. 💚

Located inside our Emmaus Works store, it’s your one-stop shop for affordable DIY supplies, practical skills and a little creative inspiration! 🏡✨

Here’s what you’ll find:

• 🎨 Sustainable, recycled paint
• 🪑 A community space where Colchester residents can learn painting, decorating and furniture upcycling skills

We created the space to support local residents — including people moving on from temporary accommodation — to make their house feel like home. 💙🏠

We’re passionate about giving things a second life through our social enterprises — saving furniture and textiles from landfill by giving them a new home in our pre-loved shops. 🛋️👗

🏠 Need a house clearance in the Colchester area? We can help. 💙

Whether you’re clearing a home following the loss of a loved one or simply ready to declutter and make some space, our friendly, efficient team is here to help — with a sympathetic and respectful approach every step of the way. 🤝

We offer two options:
🏡 Full house clearance – we remove all items from the property.
🛍️ Cherry-pick service – we select and remove items that we can sell in our charity shops.

♻️ Whichever option you choose, we’ll do our best to reuse and recycle your unwanted goods, with non-recyclable items disposed of responsibly.

By choosing Emmaus Colchester, you’re also helping support our work with people affected by homelessness. 💙
