It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Hobday, 2nd Langham Scout Leader and Legacy Explorer Leader, who died suddenly on the 4th December 2024. Denise, Michael, Ed, and the family, would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the kind words of condolence and support, which are deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
The funeral will be held at Langham Church on Thursday 2nd January 2025, at 13:00. Uniformed colleagues are invited to wear their uniform with service awards, though the family has requested no flags and no black attire. Family flowers only, please. Details for donations to their nominated charities will be shared at a later date.
Thank you again for your kindness and support.

This weekend, our Cubs and Scouts were joined by the Cubs from 1st Myland, 1st Marks Tey & Copford, and 1st Great Horkesley Scout Groups for a joint sleepover.

We kicked off our adventure with an exciting train ride to the ice-skating rink, where we met up with 44th Colchester Cubs and all had a blast on the ice! After all the icy excitement, we stopped off at McDonald's for dinner, followed by a train and bus ride home, where we watched a film and went to sleep.

A huge shoutout to all the leaders, Cubs, and Scouts who made this weekend unforgettable!

What an unforgettable adventure we've just had at our Summer Camp on the picturesque Isle of Wight! 2nd Langham teamed up with the amazing Scouts from 1st Marks Tey & Copford, and together, we had an absolute blast! We even invested 7 Scouts on the Ferry!

From tree climbing to sea kayaking, giant paddle boarding to swimming, and even some intense axe throwing, archery, and rifle shooting - we did it all! But that's not all, we took on the ultimate challenge with a thrilling scavenger hunt, navigating public transport around the island! (And not being at all competitive...).

It was amazing to see Scouts and Leaders from both groups gel so well together. It was an incredible camp that brought out the best in everyone, and is definitely going to be a challenge to beat next year!
