Ok it's almost upon us !! There have been lots of questions regarding the start of events etc... programmes are available at local shops in Wivenhoe, the bookstore, Michaels and the newsagents. Here's a quick rundown. The regatta quicks off with the pram race on Friday at 7.30pm starting from the greyhound pub. We have an early tide this year meaning that events are slightly earlier. You can expect to see the smacks and gaffers arriving in Wivenhoe at around midday. The Gigs and rowing races are happening from 12.30 followed by the raft race at 1pm These timings maybe subject to change so please listen to PA announcements during the day.

Michaels property consultants are sponsoring this years regatta. As many of you know, without sponsorship the regatta would not be able to run. Michaels would like to put up some advertising boards to promote the Regatta. If you live in Wivenhoe and wouldn't mind one of these boards outside your house please contact me. Michaels would be responsible for putting them up and taking them down.

And we're off!!.... Lining up to be a brilliant day with weather forecast predicted at 70f.
Stalls open from Midday. Look out for the award winning caprilatte ice cream ,outside the British Legion, Dedham Vale vineyard at the beginning of west Quay, and many other stalls along the Quay we also have an array of food stalls around the dry dock .
Punch and Judy shows are 2pm 3pm and 4pm. A full programme of events is listed in the regatta programme on sale at Wivenhoe Bookshop, the newsagents and our stall.
5.30pm - 8pm the Rose and Crown will have a live Blues band playing on the Quay.
3s a crowd will be playing at the Station pub from 6pm.
If you need any information please come and see us on our stand outside the Nottage. Have a good regatta everybody

Are you feeling up to the challenge?... This years Pram race will be starting outside the Greyhound!!!... 'Mothers pushing their babies' will race down the the high street turning right onto station road where they will race over a course
between the pubs of lower Wivenhoe both ‘mother’
and ‘baby’ drinking half a pint of beer at each pub..... All
competitors must complete registration at the GREYHOUND
between 19.00 and 19.15 on Friday 8th July. There is £50 prize money up for grabs and a bottle of champagne for the best fancy dress. The regatta committee would like to say a huge thank you to WORC who sponsor this event.

Rules of the raft race .Register your raft by 3.15pm on the old hard ( opposite the legion ) on the day. You need to have made your raft, so two canoes or surf boards lashed together will unfortunately not qualify as a raft!! There should be no more than 4 people on each raft team. Other than that anything goes !

Last years Raft Race winners were from the Black Buoy.....will the station come forward this year to regain the title???...

Wivenhoe Regatta is proudly sponsored by Michaels property consultants this year. Without sponsorship we would be unable to hold a regatta.
As some of you know any profit that the regatta committee makes is ploughed straight back into the local community.
we look forward to seeing you on the Saturday 9th of July and lets make this the best regatta ever!!!

To all stall holders at this years regatta, if you have not returned your booking form with stall fees, could you please do that this week. I can't hold stall places now without payment as I have had a lot of requests for stalls.
