Fun fact: The name “bingo” came about in the 1920s. An American toy salesman called Edwin S. Lowe saw people playing a version of the game at a carnival. They used dried beans to mark their numbers and shouted “Beano!” when they completed their card.

Lowe took the game home and introduced it to friends. During one game, someone accidentally shouted “Bingo!” instead of “Beano” — and Lowe liked the sound of it. He started calling the game Bingo, and the name stuck.
So, essentially:
Beano → accidental “Bingo!” → one of the world's favourite number games. 😄

Remember local legends Retro from festival weekend? Well they're back and playing at The Five Bells Village Pub - Colne Engaine this evening from 8.30pm!🎸

And rumour has it there'll be a fish and chip van there from 4.30pm too! 🍟

Honestly, what more could you want on a Friday night? Your start to the bank holiday weekend just got even better xx

You can get involved as much or as little as you like, but one thing’s guaranteed – there’ll be plenty of laughs along the way! It’s also a great way to meet new people and make some lovely new friends.

We’d really love to welcome some new faces to the team. Come along to our AGM and see what we are all about.
