🎂💙🐾 Happy 9th Birthday, Neville! 🐾💙🎂

Today we celebrate a very special boy’s 9th birthday.

We know today is Neville’s birthday because his date of birth was recorded on his microchip, although very little is known about his life before he came into rescue.

What we do know is that when Neville arrived in rescue care, he was in an incredibly pitiful state. He was severely emaciated, physically exhausted and emotionally broken. His dental disease was so severe that he needed 23 teeth removed immediately upon entering rescue. Neville was also left completely blind in one eye due to significant scarring and damage and has advanced cataracts in his remaining eye. Despite everything he had endured, his gentle nature never disappeared.

Neville was adopted once, but sadly became seriously unwell due to Addison’s disease and was returned to rescue care. Following this, it was decided that Neville would remain under the lifelong care of the rescue, ensuring he would always receive the stability, support and medical treatment he needs.

Today, Neville is happy, settled and very much at home in his foster placement. He is deeply loved by the family caring for him, especially the children, whom he absolutely adores. The bond they share is truly special, and it is clear to everyone who knows him that Neville has found comfort, security and happiness there.

These days you’ll often find Neville proudly carrying a toy around in his mouth, setting off on an adventure, or snuggled up on the sofa enjoying the simple comforts of life. Despite his health challenges and sight loss, he embraces every day with enthusiasm and joy.

Neville is one of the most loving dogs you could ever hope to meet. His resilience, gentle nature and unwavering capacity for love continue to inspire everyone who has the privilege of knowing him.

From a neglected, broken little dog to the happy and cherished boy he is today, Neville is a shining example of why rescue matters and what can be achieved when a dog is given the care, compassion and second chance they deserve.

Happy 9th Birthday, Neville. We hope your day is filled with toys, treats, adventures and all the love in the world. ❤️🎂🐾

💔 BERTIE IS STILL LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER 🏠 💔

We are so sad for Bertie.

When this handsome boy first came into our care, we were inundated with messages from people wanting to adopt him. Rather than rushing him into a home, we chose to do the responsible thing and take our time to properly assess him so that we could find him the right match.

Now that his assessment is complete, Bertie is still waiting.

It breaks our hearts because before we knew his needs, everyone wanted him. Now that we’re being honest and transparent about the type of home he requires, the enquiries have all but stopped. Sadly, it feels like because he isn’t “perfect” on paper, he’s being overlooked.

But to us, Bertie is perfect. ❤️

Bertie is a 15-month-old Poodle cross, possibly Cavalier, with so much love to give. He is a young, affectionate boy who thrives on human companionship and is looking for a family that will give him the love and security he deserves.

🏡 Adult-only home required
🚫 No children
❤️ Needs someone around for most of the day
🚽 Fully house trained
🐾 Can live with older, calm dogs
🐱 Can live with dog-savvy cats

Bertie is also:
✔️ Castrated
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Flea treated
✔️ Worm treated

Bertie isn’t asking for much. He simply needs a home that understands his needs and is willing to give him the time, love, and commitment he deserves. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion with his whole life ahead of him.

Please don’t let him be overlooked because his perfect home is a little more specific. The right family is out there somewhere—we just need to help them find him.

🐾🤠 Welcome Cowboy! 🤠🐾

Cowboy, a Pomeranian-type dog, came into our care via the stray dog pound and has been with us for a couple of days now. 🐶

This little lad has already stolen a lot of hearts with his charming character and his beautiful little smiley face. 😊 He is a very happy, loving little boy, and it makes a wonderful change for a dog to come into us without severe health issues or deep-rooted trauma. 🐾

Cowboy needs to be castrated before being made available for adoption. At the moment, he is with us for assessment while we assess what type of home would suit him best.

We will soon be able to offer this wonderful boy up for adoption, so please keep your eyes peeled for updates on this lovely little lad. 👀🐾

We have a feeling Cowboy is going to make one lucky family very happy indeed. ❤️🤠

🐾💕 Welcome to the rescue, Cowboy! 💕🐾

🐾 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION – KAIA 🐾💜

Kaia is a 2-year-old Border Collie x Whippet looking for an active and experienced home that understands the needs of intelligent, working-bred dogs.

Affectionate, playful, and full of personality, Kaia loves human company and enjoys being involved in everyday life. She forms strong bonds with her people and is a sweet-natured girl who enjoys companionship, affection, and being included in whatever her family is doing. She is lovely with people, good with children, and has the potential to make an incredibly rewarding companion in the right home.

In the home, Kaia is relaxed, affectionate, and enjoys spending time with her people. She is not constantly on the go and has a good ability to settle when her needs have been met. Outdoors, she is inquisitive, adventurous, and enjoys exploring her environment. She absolutely loves a ball and enjoys interactive play with her handlers.

Kaia previously took part in beginner-level flyball and has some lovely foundations in place which could certainly be continued in the right home.

Despite her breeding, Kaia is not an extreme high-energy dog within the home. She settles well, enjoys relaxing with her people, and has a lovely off-switch. However, she is not a dog who would be happy without regular exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to engage with her environment. She would thrive in a home that enjoys walking, training, adventure, and including their dog in day-to-day activities.

She walks nicely on the lead, has established off-lead recall, and is crate trained. While any new owner should expect to spend time building a relationship and reliability in a new environment, Kaia already has many good foundations in place.

Kaia is up to date with vaccinations, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and will be spayed within the next couple of weeks following a recent season.

Kaia was surrendered into rescue after struggling to coexist appropriately with the resident dogs in her previous home, despite growing up with them. She can display controlling behaviours around other dogs when she feels insecure or when clear boundaries and leadership are lacking.

Since entering foster care, these behaviours have been well managed and Kaia has shown that she is capable of living successfully around other dogs when given appropriate structure, guidance, and management. She continues to learn how to make better choices around other dogs and benefits from an environment that sets her up for success.

For this reason, Kaia could live as an only dog or alongside compatible resident dog(s) in a home with an experienced owner who understands canine behaviour and is confident managing multi-dog dynamics. Any resident dogs would need to be carefully matched, and introductions would be carried out with her long-term success in mind.

While Kaia can socialise appropriately with some dogs, she can become nervous and reactive in close proximity to unfamiliar dogs, so continued guidance and support around dog interactions will be important.

Kaia cannot live with small animals.

Like many intelligent and active dogs, Kaia benefits from structure, routine, and clear expectations. In her previous home she developed habits such as stealing food items and helping herself to things she should not have access to. Since being in rescue and having consistent boundaries in place, these behaviours have become much more manageable. Her future home will need to continue setting her up for success through sensible management and training.

Kaia settles well with routine and crate structure but can struggle if left without appropriate preparation and management. Her ideal home will be one that understands the importance of building independence gradually and maintaining consistency.

Kaia is not suitable for a first-time dog owner.

Since entering rescue, Kaia has responded exceptionally well to training, structure, and clear expectations. She has made significant progress and has developed into a fantastic dog who genuinely enjoys being part of family life. Like any dog, she will need her future home to continue the training, boundaries, and guidance that have helped her succeed, but we know just how much potential she has.

Kaia is not looking for perfection; she is looking for commitment. She needs an owner with the time, patience, and understanding to continue helping her make good choices and be the very best version of herself. In return, she offers affection, loyalty, companionship, and a genuine desire to be part of her person’s life. ❤️

Home checks, proof of ID and address, and adoption fees will apply.

Please complete an adoption application to express your interest in Kaia. ⬇️

🐾 STILL WAITING… 🐾

Bertie is still searching for his forever home, and we’re hoping that the right person sees this post.

At around 14 months old, Bertie is a young dog with so much potential. Since coming into our care, he has made fantastic progress and continues to grow in confidence with every new experience.

Bertie is very much a companion dog. He loves being part of everyday life and enjoys sharing adventures with his people. Whether it’s a walk, a trip out, or simply relaxing together at home, Bertie is happiest when he’s included.

🏡 Bertie’s ideal home:

• A home where he can be involved in everyday life and spend plenty of time with his people

• An adult-only home, where he can enjoy a quieter environment and continue building his confidence

• Owners with a good understanding of dog body language and behaviour, who can recognise when Bertie may need a little extra support or reassurance

• A home with calm, well-balanced adult dogs who can help show him the way

Bertie can sometimes be a little enthusiastic when meeting new dogs and is still learning his social skills, but he responds well to calm, confident canine role models. Having suitable canine companions around can really help him, as he takes comfort from other dogs and benefits from their guidance and reassurance.

✨ About Bertie:

• House trained

• Crate trained

• Travels well

• Enjoys his walks and exploring new places

• Has made fantastic progress with his confidence

• Loves being involved in family life

Once Bertie forms a bond, he is affectionate, funny and loves being close to his people. He enjoys exploring on walks, travelling with his humans and then settling down for some well-earned relaxation afterwards.

We believe Bertie is a Cavapoo-type dog, so regular grooming will be essential to keep his coat healthy and comfortable.

Bertie isn’t looking for a perfect home. He simply needs someone willing to offer patience, understanding and a place where he can continue building his confidence.

Bertie is looking for more than just a home — he’s looking for someone to share life with. If you’re searching for a loyal little shadow who wants to be part of your adventures and your everyday routine, Bertie could be the perfect match. ❤️

❤️ If you think you could give Bertie the chance at his happy ever after, please complete an adoption application. ⬇️

💙 REMI IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS PERFECT MATCH 💙

We know Remi’s person is out there somewhere.

This handsome 2-year-old lurcher has had interest, but we’re still searching for the right home for this very special boy. After spending months in foster care, we’d love nothing more than to see him settled with a family of his own.

And honestly, everyone who meets him falls a little bit in love.

Recently, while his foster mum was away, Remi stayed with a pet sitter who summed him up perfectly:

“Remi is just to die for! Completely fell in love with him during my visit. He wants nothing more than to just be close to you all day stealing your body warmth. A real special boy!” ❤️

That’s Remi through and through.

He’s not a dog who demands attention. He just wants to be near you. Whether that’s curling up beside you on the sofa, following you from room to room, or resting his head on your lap, Remi is happiest when he’s with his people.

🐾 Gentle giant with a wonderful nature

🐾 Great with other dogs

🐾 Travels brilliantly in the car

🐾 Affectionate, loyal, and loving

🐾 Well-mannered and polite

🐾 Good recall and continuing to excel in his training

🐾 Loves company and would suit a home where someone is around much of the time

🐾 Would enjoy a secure garden to relax and play in

As a sighthound, Remi cannot live with cats or small animals.

✅ Castrated

✅ Vaccinated

✅ Microchipped

✅ Flea & worm treated

✅ Fully health checked

His foster mum absolutely adores him and has invested so much time, love, and training into helping him become the wonderful dog he is today. If she could keep him, she would. But there are always more dogs needing help, and Remi deserves a forever family of his own.

We’re not looking for just any home for Remi—we’re looking for the right one. The family who will appreciate what a truly special boy he is and give him the love and security he deserves.

Please help us find Remi’s forever home by sharing this post. His perfect match could be just one share away. 🤍🐾

🐾 Mouse Update – Ready to Find Her Forever Home 🐾

Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated towards Mouse’s care. Because of your kindness, generosity and support, Mouse was able to receive the veterinary treatment she desperately needed.

We are delighted to share that Mouse’s surgery was a success. She has now been spayed and underwent extensive dental treatment, during which several painful teeth were removed. She is recovering beautifully and already seems much happier and more comfortable.

Now that Mouse is feeling better, she is ready to start looking for a home of her own. Due to a change in circumstances for her current foster family, we are urgently seeking a foster-to-adopt home where Mouse can continue to settle, recover and enjoy the stability she deserves.

Mouse is a tiny girl weighing under 4kg and we believe she is a Dachshund cross Jack Russell. She is full of character, enjoys being involved in whatever is going on around her, and has a cheeky, entertaining personality that makes everyone smile.

🏡 Mouse’s ideal home:

🐾 A cat-free home. Mouse has shown a strong interest in cats and would find living with them a little too exciting.

🐾 Mouse could happily live with a calm, well-matched male dog. She can be a little bossy with other female dogs, so we feel a male canine companion would suit her best.

🐾 Children aged 8 years and over who are respectful and understanding of dogs would be fine.

🐾 House trained and enjoys her home comforts.

🐾 A family who will appreciate her fun-loving nature and give her the time she needs to continue settling into home life.

As Mouse arrived with us as an unclaimed stray from the pound, with no microchip and no known history, we cannot be certain of her age. Based on her overall condition and veterinary assessment, we believe she is middle-aged, likely around 6–8 years old.

Mouse has come such a long way in a short space of time. Thanks to your support, she has received the care she needed and is now ready to begin the next chapter of her life.

If you have a little space in your home and a lot of love in your heart, please consider welcoming this special little lady into your family.

📍 Mouse is currently based in the Colchester area.

Please note that all adoption applications are subject to home checks. Proof of ID and address will be required, along with the relevant adoption fee.

To express your interest in fostering or adopting Mouse, please complete an adoption application below. ⬇️

🐾 WHERE DID ALL THE LOVE FOR BERTIE GO? 🐾 💔

When Bertie was first posted on our page, we were flooded with messages from people wanting to offer him a home. At the time, we explained that we needed to properly assess him first, as he came to us with no previous history…

Now Bertie is finally ready to find his forever home, and sadly all that interest seems to have disappeared 😭

Just because Bertie needs a little extra support doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve a loving home of his own. 💔

Bertie is approximately 14 months old and was castrated very early at just 8 months old by his previous owner. He’s a sensitive little soul who needs understanding, patience, and stability to help him continue growing in confidence.

🏡 What Bertie is looking for:

• An experienced dog owner

• Someone home most of the time – Bertie struggles being left alone

• A calm, adult-only home, as children frighten him

• A home with other dogs could work, but they must be stable, well-balanced dogs with NO behavioural issues so Bertie can continue learning that the world isn’t such a scary place

✨ The lovely things about Bertie:

• He enjoys his walks

• Once he trusts you, he is a wonderful companion dog

• House trained

• Crate trained

• Travels well in the car

We believe Bertie is a Cavapoo-type dog, so regular grooming will be essential to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. ✂️🐶

Bertie may not be the “easy” dog everyone first imagined, but he is absolutely deserving of patience, love, and commitment. The right home is out there somewhere — we just need that special person to see past his worries and give him the chance he deserves ❤️

Bertie isn’t looking for perfection — just a patient home willing to give him a little time to settle and continue blossoming 🐾

❤️ If you think you could give Bertie the chance at his happy ever after, please complete an adoption application.
