💖 AGM & COMPETITION 💖

Tuesday 8th of September was our AGM and competition, it was also my birthday so there was cake! 15 people entered the competition and the range of work was outstanding 💖

Mixed media - Carol with her Rebecca Compton
Hand embroidery - Sarah with Frida embroidery
Metal work - Jan with her ship
3D - Sue with her welly boot
Counted embroidery - Sue with her Hardanger
Kit - Carol with her biscornu
Machine embroidery - Ruth with her tile
Chairman’s challenge - Sue with her face

And winner of best in show was Sue with her Hardanger

I was also elected as the new chairman which is both amazing and nerve racking. Hoping I can do a great job and thank you to Sue for being a chairman for the last 3 years, you have been amazing 💖

💖 JULY SESSION 💖

For our July session we were lead by Theresa in a “pass the hoop” challenge.

We all started with our own hoop and the first prompt was pulled from the hat, or in this case the textile bowl 🥣

We then sewed the prompt onto our own hoop, the first prompt was “use yellow thread”

The hoop then got passed to the person on your right and the next prompt was called, we had colours and various stitch styles as the prompts.

The session was complete when your own hoop returned to you, with a lovely stitched design.

We all agreed this was a fun session.

A couple of members also bought in their completed True Colours pieces. It’s great to see these being completed and everyone’s different use of colours.

Our next session is in September when we have our AGM and also our competition.

Excited to see what everyone has been working on over the year and all the entries to the categories 💖
