Resourcing Me - Self-Appreciation
Can You Acknowledge Your Own Courage?
🗓️Thursday 25 June
🕦11am-12pm
📍The Tree Room, Colchester.

Many of us find it easy to appreciate other people. We notice their kindness, courage, perseverance, and strength.

But when it comes to ourselves?

We often focus on what we haven’t done, where we’ve fallen short, or what still needs fixing.

This week in Resourcing Me, we’ll explore how self-appreciation can help balance our natural negativity bias and support greater wellbeing, resilience, and happiness.

Together we’ll reflect on:

🌸 Why self-appreciation feels so difficult

🌸 The courage it has taken to get where you are today

🌸 How to recognise your strengths without needing to be perfect

🌸 A gentle guided meditation to help you appreciate yourself with kindness

This isn’t about ego or self-esteem. It’s about acknowledging your humanity.

The challenges you’ve faced.

The things you’ve carried.

And the ways you’ve kept showing up.

If you’ve spent years caring for others, managing crises, or putting your own needs last, this session is for you.

Come and join us for a gentle hour of reflection, connection, and self-compassion.

✨ You deserve some of the kindness you so freely give to others.

What a day!
Pause - a selfcare day by the sea was incredible. So many people came and explored our selfcare activities, held across 7 different beach huts.

QiGong on the beach
Mindful self compassion
Watercolours
Pastels
Rock painting
Sea shell art
Slow stitching
Journalling
Breathwork
Sea swim

Together we learned to notice,
To slow down,
To pause,
To remember we are human,
To savour,
To be kind to ourselves
To express our emotions through art and journalling
To cultivate happiness
To connect with ourselves
And with others. 🤗

Such a beautiful day.
Thanks to Essex County Council for funding from the Healthy Habits fund to make this day possible. 🙏

This morning’s sunrise was at its absolute best for us.
The opal skies, the orange ball stretching up from the water into the sky, and the glorious sparkle path. No need to edit these photos, nature at its finest.

The water was warm and so calm, you could hear the gentleness of the waves lapping on the shore, the seagulls calling out…

The 2.30 am alarm was worth it. The feeling from time like this in nature, it replenishes you like nothing else can.

Would you like to come to our next dip? Join us on Sunday 5th July. Book your ticket here ⬇️

Who wants to watch the sunrise with us tomorrow morning? 🌅

Sunrise Dip Friday 19 June
🌅 We meet at 4am
Toes in at sunrise 4.32 am
Followed by breakfast in the beach hut and lovely conversation.

It’s our sunrise dip and breakfast at Red Beach Hut at Walton on the Naze tomorrow morning. The weather looks gorgeous for us so it should be a good sunrise.

Like all of our activities, everything is an invitation. You don’t have to go into the water, you can simply enjoy the mindfulness practice, and the powerful feeling of the sunrise by the sea.

Nervous about meeting that early or where to find us? Most people are but don’t worry, we’ll make it easier for you. 🤗

Book your ticket so we know how many pancakes 🥞 to cook. Yes we do cater to all dietary requirements. It’s amazing what you can do from a little beach hut.

We have lost too many good men, too many loved ones.
We all need to overcome the stigma surrounding alcohol and drug misuse so more people reach out for help, and accept it.
We all recover together ❤️

This Men’s Health Week, we’re shining a light on the impact of alcohol on men’s health. 💙

Behind the statistics are real lives, real families, and real struggles.

If you or someone you know is finding it hard to manage their alcohol use, you’re not alone—support is available.

Open Road offers free, confidential help to anyone who needs it.

Reaching out could be the first step to feeling better. đź’¬

Not long now until our Pause - A Self-care Day by the Sea. This event is open to all. 🤗

Red Beach Hut at Walton on the Naze
Saturday 20th June
10am -4 pm

How the day works:
1. Visit the Welcome Hut (D9), we’ll help you understand all on offer and how to make the most of your time so you can Pause - Breathe - Notice.

2. Explore the activities that interest you. Have a look at the schedule. There’s plenty to choose from. No need to do it all.

If You’re Not Sure Where to Start, begin by noticing how you feel…
Feeling overwhelmed → Pause Hut
Feeling disconnected → Head to the beach
Holding things in → Head to the Creative Hut
Wanting to reflect → Head to the Journalling hut

3. Add a note to the Self-care Wall. Perhaps patterns you notice you’d like to let go of.

4. Try something new.

5. Add another note to the self-care wall, a new self-care intention to take home with you.

6. Leave feeling amazing, with one self-care practice to take home. 🌸

Your Sunday Self-Care Reminder
Have you ever noticed how difficult it can be to feel grateful when life feels hard?

When we're carrying stress, grief, worry, or the impact of someone else's addiction, gratitude can sometimes feel out of reach.

But gratitude isn't about pretending everything is okay. It's about gently asking:

What else is true?

Alongside the struggle, what is supporting you today?

Read this week's Sunday Self-Care Reminder: Gratitude Doesn't Mean Ignoring What's Hard

🌸 June: Cultivating Happiness 🌸
When life has been affected by someone else’s addiction, grief, stress, or uncertainty,
happiness can feel like something we'll get to one day when life is easier.

But what if happiness isn't something we wait for?
What if it's something we gently cultivate?

Throughout June, we'll be exploring simple, self-compassionate ways to notice and nurture moments of goodness, gratitude, connection, and joy alongside life's challenges.

In our weekly Resourcing Me sessions, we'll explore:

Week 1: Noticing the Good
Learning to recognise moments of comfort, beauty and support that we often overlook.

Week 2: Slowing Down Enough to Notice the Good
Exploring how survival mode keeps us rushing, and how small pauses can help us receive life's positive moments.

Week 3: Gratitude
Discovering how gratitude can help us widen our perspective and appreciate what supports us, even during difficult times.

Week 4: Self-Appreciation
Practising a skill many of us find challenging, recognising our strengths, courage, and the ways we've kept going.

You are warmly invited to join us live, online or in person. In person sessions are held in Colchester at The Tree Room.

These sessions offer a gentle space to pause, reflect, learn, and connect with others who understand.

And if you can't make a session live, don't worry. Recordings are available in the Bloom Self-Care Hub, so you can explore the theme in your own time and at your own pace.

You don't have to do this alone.

Sometimes happiness grows through the smallest moments. Sometimes it grows because we practise together. 🌸

Learn more and book into a session. If you have questions please send a message. We are here to help.
