We raise money to help grant wishes for the Colchester Neonatal Unit, big or small 💜🧚🏻‍♀️

💙 Today we dropped off this new chair for the NICU as we received a request from the staff.

💙 Babies will really benefit from this chair during their stay to support their development, especially for those that have a prolonged stay and it also gives opportunity for play and a change in position for both baby and parents.

💙 Items like this are specially designed and wipe clean and we’re so pleased we are able to fulfill the requests we receive so quickly!

Couldn’t be prouder or more excited to share our beautiful film made by the amazing bigpicturecharityfilms - Nik and Maria have done a beautiful job.

This is just a little more information and explanation about why we do what we do and what it achieves!

Please share far and wide and help us get our name out there more and more. We hope this will help us achieve support from even bigger businesses to raise even more money for the NNU.

💛🐣 Happy Easter! 🐣 💛

🧚‍♂️We’ve been busy spreading a little Easter joy! 🧚‍♂️

We dropped off gift bags for all the babies and families who will be in the Neonatal Unit this weekend, plus a well-deserved hamper of goodies for the amazing staff!

Thank you for all your support and donations which make small gestures like these possible 💛

🧚🏻‍♀️ an exciting update 🧚🏻‍♀️

The Neonatal Unit now has a Transitional Care area within the postpartum ward, which has 4 designated bays. This area is for later premature babies and babies who need extra monitoring but not needing the unit itself. These may include things like NG tube feeding, antibiotics, extra weight checks and a closer eye on feeding. The area is run by neonatal nurses and doctors.

Two families very kindly donated money to us, in memory of their beautiful twin girls and in their Mother's dying wishes, and we put this money towards electric reclining chairs.

Each bay has one of these chairs, so it means the partner can stay to help support Mum and be there for baby/babies too. They fully recline and we can confirm they are really comfy.

Thank you to all of you for supporting us with our fundraising, which has helped us to provide these chairs.

💜 Welcome Bags 💜

Happy New Year to Everyone!

We’re really excited to announce a project we’ve been working on for a while now which means a lot to us all!

Every family who are admitted into the Neonatal Unit will now be given one of our welcome bags, which we hope will add a little comfort to the beginning of their journey and provide them with items they can keep for years to come.

Each personalised bag contains the following:

💜A keepsake Wish upon a Fairy Teddy
💜Wish upon a Fairy Thermos mug
💜A book to read to baby
💜Sensory cards for the incubator
💜A notebook and pen to record important information or create a journal
💜A refreshment pack
💜A handheld fan as it can get a little hot in the unit
💜Bib & rattle for baby

What makes things like this possible is our fundraising and the support we receive from everyone, and we’re thankful for every contribution, big or small.

🎁 This week we delivered gift bags to the Neonatal Unit ready for Christmas Day - each family will receive a gift bag containing some little gifts for both baby and their parents to help ease the day being spent in hospital.

🎁A couple of us fairies spent Christmas Day in a Neonatal Unit when our babies were born and know how much a little gift can help.

🎁 We also delivered a hamper of treats for the staff who thoroughly deserve them when working over the Christmas period!

🎁 Everyone’s support makes it possible for us to be able to do these things so thank you!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE 🥁🥁🥁🥁

Sunday was a whirlwind of festive fun! Thank you so much to everyone that came along to support us and helped us raise money for our wonderful neonatal unit ❤️

We had teddy tombola, raffle, children’s tombola, book stall, cake stall, hot food and Santa’s grotto 🎄🎅

Our grand total was….

£1976.04!!!

Thank you thank you thank you!

We cannot wait to spend it on amazing things for the NNU!

BIT OF MARKET RESEARCH FROM OUR LOVELY FOLLOWERS NEEDED 🧚🏻

I know it’s the wrong season but following festive fairyland yesterday we had a lot of people ask about if we’re doing anything in the summer.

What would you all like to see in the summer event wise? And any ideas where we could hold our event - thinking somewhere outdoors?
