Winnie has been spending the weekend chilling in the garden, trying to stay cool in this blazing heat ☀️ The heat under those casts in weather like this must be unbearable, so we’ve been doing our best to make the most of the shade.

She decided she wanted to go “camping,” so we put up a little tent for her and hung some of her favourite toys around it — safe to say she absolutely loved it 🏕️💛

It’s been a tough week as she hasn’t been feeling very well and has understandably been feeling quite sorry for herself. Time seems to be moving so slowly, and we’re only halfway through, but now are over the hump I hope things start to move quicker for her… especially if this heat continues.

What a cracking day at the football event last week. The event was run by Ross Barnard for Tekkers Community Football Clubb.
It was my first football match and I got to stand on the pitch too which was pretty fun.

Unfortunately Winnie couldn’t make it due to her surgery recovery but she was super pleased to know that the team pulled in a massive £1059.

We are so grateful to receive such dedication from a lovely group of people, who want to do what they can to support their communities.

Thank you so much ☺️ Keep doing what you’re doing x

At the end of April, Winnie had leg surgery at Great Ormond Street again. We had a failed growing rod and a pin that needed replacing. So both legs were operated on. She was in the procedure for 5 hours and the orthopaedic team are so far pleased with the results. She came home much earlier than anticipated and I do think she’s been doing better generally from an early discharge. Eating, drinking and sleep is much better.
Winnie now has another 5 weeks in casts for recovery, mostly sitting in this position. She’s soldiering through and hoping to get some more sunshine and enjoy the garden more during this period.
Thanks to all those who have helped, checked in and supported us during another tough period. We will be counting down the days until she gets those cast off again! Hats off to our girl for enduring another challenge 💕💛
