I experienced the difficult process of finding care for a close family member in 2013. During that experience, I saw how important it is to have someone to guide families through what can be an emotional and complex journey. I joined the care sector in 2014 and havenโ€™t looked back.

Every day is different and every family is unique. I love seeing families enjoy quality time together again and hearing the sense of relief from those who no longer have to be the main caregiver. Itโ€™s wonderful to see the care our teams provide and the difference it makes to families every day.

I support our CRM teams with the knowledge and information they need around care and funding options, helping them guide families towards the most suitable care for their loved ones. I also work with the teams to create fun and informative events that bring our homes and local communities together.

Congratulations to Martin Lo, our Apprentice of the Month for August!

Martin is an LMS Support Manager within our Learning and Development team, based at our Support Office, and his tutor Lynn had this to say about him:

"Martin has been a pleasure to work with since the beginning of his apprenticeship. His commitment to learning, willingness to take on feedback, and determination to develop his project management skills have really stood out. A well-deserved achievement. Congratulations, Martin!"

This August, our Care Home of the Month is recognising Broadbridge Park Care Home in Horsham, West Sussex. ๐Ÿก

If you or someone you love is exploring care options in the area, Broadbridge Park is a really special place to know about.

Set in Broadbridge Heath, the home offers residential, nursing, and dementia care in surroundings that are luxurious and beautifully furnished, yet genuinely warm and family feeling.

Residents enjoy a full and fulfilling daily life here. From arts and crafts, gardening club, and physiotherapist-led exercise classes to live entertainment, a cinema, a hair salon, and a bistro, there is always something to enjoy or somewhere to relax. The team also organise regular outings to local shops, cafes, and pubs, keeping residents connected to the community they know and love.

Food is taken seriously too. Head Chef Chris Pritchard brings over 30 years of culinary experience to the kitchen, cooking fresh, homemade meals every day that reflect the tastes and traditions residents grew up with.

Broadbridge Park is taking reservations for to its stunning brand new Sullington Suite, a beautiful penthouse floor featuring nine elegantly designed bedrooms with private ensuites and gorgeous light-filled communal spaces. The standard this year has been exceptionally high, which makes reaching the final an even more impressive achievement. Steve will compete at the grand final on 14th October at Loughborough College, and we will be cheering him on every step of the way.

But this recognition is about so much more than one competition.

Over the past couple of years, Steve has quietly been making a real difference to the lives of residents across our homes. From championing seasonal produce across our kitchens to rolling out High Tea as a regular and much-loved occasion for residents, his passion for food that genuinely nourishes and brings joy is something you see in every home he touches.

He has brought our kitchen teams together through cake competitions that have created so much fun and friendly rivalry, raised standards, and given our chefs and kitchen teams a real sense of pride in what they do. And behind all of that, Steve has worked tirelessly to ensure that best practice, quality, and consistency run through every kitchen across Caring Homes.

Food is such an important part of daily life in our homes, and having someone at the helm who cares this deeply about getting it right for every resident, every single day, makes an enormous difference.

Steve, from everyone at Caring Homes, well done. You deserve this. Now go and show them what you're made of! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‚

Something exciting has happened at Broadbridge Park Care Home this week, and we can't wait to share it with you. ๐ŸŽ‰

We are pleased to officially introduce The Sullington Suite, our stunning new penthouse floor, which opened its doors this week and is ready to welcome new residents.

The suite comprises nine beautifully designed bedrooms, each with a private ensuite, alongside breathtaking modern communal lounge and kitchen/dining areas. It truly is a beautiful space, and one we are incredibly proud of.

The official opening was a wonderful occasion, attended by John Milne MP and Cllr Joanne Knowles, Chair of Horsham District Council, as well as our very own Helena Jeffries, Co-Founder of Caring Homes Group, alongside local healthcare professionals, resident family members, and valued members of the local community.

And of course, no Caring Homes celebration would be complete without a little something from our brilliant kitchen and hospitality team! ๐Ÿง

Guests were invited to decorate their own cupcakes in the gorgeous new kitchen/dining room, which proved to be a huge hit, alongside homemade canapรฉs freshly prepared by our Head Chef and kitchen team. A room full of guests carefully icing cupcakes is a wonderful way to christen a brand new space, and the smiles said it all.

At Castle View Nursing Home in Peel, Isle of Man, journalist Tom Curphey from Isle of Man Today visited to spend time with Mildred Earnshaw, 103, and Margery Fargher, 98, two women whose lives are filled with extraordinary stories and wonderful memories.

Margery recently had an unforgettable moment when she joined a group of Castle View residents on Douglas Promenade to see King Charles III on his first visit to the island as monarch. Not only did she get to see him up close, but she also shook his hand during his walkabout. And as if that weren't special enough, Margery revealed during her chat with Tom that she had also met Queen Elizabeth II back in 2011, having been personally invited to Westminster Abbey to receive her Maundy money in recognition of her services to the Isle of Man. Quite a royal record!

Mildred, who celebrated her 103rd birthday in June with a trip to Tynwald Mills and an intimate Chef's Table lunch at Castle View, had plenty of her own wonderful stories to share too, including a fascinating glimpse into her working life on the island.

Both women brought home just how rich and full a life can be, and how privileged we are to hear these stories firsthand.

Our slightly delayed congratulations to Kehinde Alege, Care Assistant at Benson House Care Home in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, who was named as our Learner of the Month for June!

Kehinde's tutor had this to say:

"Kehinde deserves to be learner of the month due to her outstanding commitment and positive attitude towards her learning... her excellent attendance, active engagement and high-quality work make her truly worthy of this recognition."
