The Preview Party for the Thringstone Art Group took place last night at The Charles Booth Centre (previously known as Thringstone Community Centre). Despite the foul weather it was very well attended and was a great success.

The 1st prize in the raffle is a delightful painting by the very talented Maria Lawes, a member of the group.

25 paintings were sold by the end of the evening, some of which were sold before the party even opened! It's open now so, if you're free, pop in to have a browse. If you're not then we're open from 2 - 5pm on Sundays, 3 - 9pm on weekdays and 1 - 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

Last Friday we enjoyed our annual Christmas lunch. A great time was had by all at Lakeside Restaurant in Moira, excellent food and company as usual.

Our esteemed leader, may her name be feared (!!!!!!!!!) had set our challenge and this year's theme was "Christmas Trees". In all there were 32 entries which was extremely good as a few members were unable to attend and there are only 24 of us in the group......!

So we have come to the end of yet another Annual Exhibition - the 22nd - and what an exhibition it's been.

42 artists exhibited, 24 club members and 18 guests. 285 framed paintings were hung on Wednesday, August 17th (and another 8 hung during the exhibition), 31 sold during the Preview Party and 57 sold in total. (That 57 excludes those from the browser boxes!)

At the Preview Party one of our number was made a Lifetime Member, a most well deserved tribute to the gentlest of gentlemen.

Everybody's thanks must go to our indomitable leader, Julie, without who's hard work the exhibition would not be the excellent one which it is.

All that's left to say is - see you next year!
