Feed the Need Coalville

**We are not in the main Marlene Reid Centre building. We are in the same building as the Restore furniture shop - see links below for exact location! Please park in the main precinct car park and not the MRC car park, thank you*

We're open tomorrow between 10.30am and 12pm.

If you live in Coalville and the surrounding area and you're struggling for food, then please do not worry as we are here to help you. We can also provide you with information on where else can provide help locally.

If you're able to, please bring a couple of strong bags with you.

If you're visiting us in a car, please use the main town centre car park (free up to 2 hours) and not the Marlene Reid Centre car park.

We do not tolerate violence or abuse of any kind and reserve the right to refuse food to anyone who is threatening or rude to our volunteers. Please treat everyone with the same respect you would expect to receive.

You do not need a referral to come to us but we do ask that you bring along something with your address, and preferably photo, on if you have it. We may also ask for ID if it's been a while since you first showed us, so it's always worth having some with you 😊 please message us if you have any concerns around this.

***IMPORTANT NEWS***

You may have seen that we've been searching for someone to take over the running of our food bank. Unfortunately this search has been unsuccessful so we are saddened to announce the upcoming closure of Feed the Need Coalville. While we appreciate this post may reach people that are interested in taking over, the decision to close is final and not something we are able to change at this point.

We will drop down to opening once a month for July, August and September and then close, so our remaining opening dates are:

Saturday 16th May
Saturday 6th June
Saturday 20th June
Saturday 4th July
Saturday 1st August
Saturday 5th September

A leaflet with details on where you can get help after we have closed will be given out from June onwards.

It's been a wonderful six and a half years serving the local community. More will follow on the impact of our work and of course a celebration of our fantastic volunteers.

You might remember that we were looking for someone to take over the running of Feed the Need Coalville towards the end of last year. Despite coverage on both the local news and radio, our search is still ongoing.

It's getting to the point where if we don't find someone soon, we will have to close the food bank later this year, which we really don't want to do.

So, if you're interested, or know somebody that might be, please get in touch! We recognise that running any charity is hard work and rather time consuming, so it could be a group of you that want to run it rather than an individual.

Thank you to Woodstock in Whitwick and all their supporters.

Thanks to the amazing generosity of our Woodstock family , we gave over 100 children a lovely morning in the park , presented eggs to a retired people’s luncheon club and had over 50 eggs to go to the Feed the Need Coalvillefoodbank . Thank you everyone, we love you all💚💚 #
