🎭 MEET THE CAST - Steel Magnolias 🎭

Melanie Mitchell plays Clairee Belcher, the witty, wealthy, and gregarious widow of a former mayor, serving as a pillar of support and comedic relief in Chinquapin, Louisiana. She blends southern elegance with a sharp, sarcastic wit, using humor to mask pain and fostering a deep, maternal love for her community.

Helen Cornes plays Ouiser (pronounced Weezer) Boudreaux, the beloved, acerbic town curmudgeon, (curmudgeon is a bad-tempered, cantankerous, and often older person who is easily annoyed or angered) known for her sharp wit, love for her dog (Rhett), and feuds with neighbors. Despite her bitter exterior, she is a deeply loyal, caring friend who softens over time, showcasing the "steel magnolia" strength by supporting others through crisis.

Dress Rehearsal done now all we need is an audience!

Want to help clean up Coalville? Join the Wednesday litter pickers setting off from CAN at 9.30am

One of the best things about Coalville? The people. ❤️
This morning I wandered through town sharing posters for the upcoming Pride celebrations and the Coalville Theatre Festival, and ended up having loads of great conversations along the way.
I also introduced another local business to Coalville Public Radio! 📻
If you've not listened yet, why not give it a try? Just ask Alexa to play Coalville Public Radio for a mix of great music, local stories, community news and friendly chat.
A big thank you to Nigel at the barbers for the warm welcome and for being part of what makes our town such a friendly place.
Who else would like Coalville Public Radio playing in their shop, café, office or community space? Let us know below and we'll help get you set up! 👇
