Volunteer Treasurer

Join the Board of Trustees at Improving Lives

Improving Lives is a well-established charity supporting people across West Dunbartonshire. Our services include information and support, advocacy, community activities and wellbeing projects. We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help guide the charity through its next stage of growth.

• Work with staff to review budgets, management accounts and annual accounts.
• Support the Board in making informed financial decisions.
• Help ensure the charity meets its legal and financial responsibilities.
• Liaise with our independent examiner or accountant when required.
• Promote good financial governance and transparency.

Who we’re looking for

We welcome applications from people with experience in finance, accounting, banking, bookkeeping or financial management. Previous trustee experience is helpful but not essential.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Thinks strategically and asks constructive questions.
• Shares our commitment to supporting local people.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Is willing to attend regular Board meetings.

What you’ll gain

• Experience helping shape the future of a growing charity.
• The chance to work alongside a passionate and supportive Board.
• Opportunities to develop your governance and leadership experience.

Time commitment

The Board meets approximately every four to six weeks, with occasional additional meetings or email discussions when needed.
