🌱 An inspiring talk at Rotary Clydebank 🌱

We were delighted to welcome David Watson, who spoke to us about the fantastic work of Unity, based in Dalmuir, Clydebank.

Unity creates opportunities for people who might not otherwise receive support, helping them access outdoor activities that build confidence, connection, and wellbeing. From gardening projects and guided walks to litter-picking and caring for shared spaces, their work makes a real difference locally.

David was an engaging and genuinely inspirational speaker, and his dedication to supporting others through practical, inclusive initiatives really resonated with our members.

🍷 Tapas Night Success

An evening of great food, friendship, and inspiring stories – Kevin and Linda Clark shared their cycling journey along the 780 km Camino de Santiago, and Elspeth’s homemade tapas were a hit. Together, we raised just over £1,000 for St Margaret’s Hospice.

🌟 Young Bankie of the Year 2025 — Nominations Now Open! 🌟

Do you know a young person (under 25) in Clydebank who’s doing something amazing — through community service, sporting achievement, or personal growth?

Rotary Clydebank is calling for nominations for our Young Bankie of the Year awards 🏆
There are two categories: Junior (up to 15) and Senior (16–24). The winner receives a trophy and a cash award (at least £50).

✅ Who can nominate? Teachers, coaches, youth leaders, family, friends, groups — or the young person themselves!

🎖️ Supporting Those Who Served 🇬🇧

At our weekly meeting on Friday 3rd October, Rotary Clydebank was proud to welcome Jim Watret, Community Fundraising Manager for Erskine Veterans Charity, and to present a £550.00 donation to support Erskine’s vital work with veterans and their families.

Erskine has cared for Scotland’s veterans for over a century — providing medical and residential care, community, dignity, and unwavering support. We’re delighted to continue standing alongside this remarkable organisation. 💙

As we prepare for this year’s Poppy Appeal, it feels especially meaningful to strengthen these links. Erskine veterans may even join local youth groups at the collection this year, bringing generations together in a shared act of remembrance. 🌺

A pioneering scientist, conservationist, and United Nations Messenger of Peace, Dr. Goodall inspired generations to care for people, animals, and the environment. She was supportive of our work to and joined Rotary's This Close campaign.
