Roseland Community Energy Trust CIC Roseland Community Energy Trust CIC is a not for profit community enterprise www.rcet.co.uk

Roseland Community Energy Trust CIC is a not for profit company which has been set up to develop a wind farm on land south east of Bolsover. The proposed site, which early assessments are indicating is suitable to accommodate between 5-8 turbines, lies north of Glapwell, south and east of Palterton and near to the village of Scarcliffe. We have already set up two anenometers (wind speed measuring

devices) and are now consultating the public on our plans for a full planning application to erect turbines on the site. Roseland has been established by two charities - Community and Voluntary Partners which supports community groups in Bolsover, and LEO, the alliance for enterrprise in Bolsover, Ashfield and Mansfield. Roseland's Board comes from these two charities and also includes a local resident and member of the Bolsover Energy Partnership and a rep from Locality, the national charity and association for community-led organisations and enterprises. Roseland is a Community Interest Company, which means that all of its profits must be used to benefit the community and that none of its assets can be sold for private benefit. We want to build a wind farm in Bolsover because:
It can generate up to a £1m a year for local good causes and to help people into employment
Wind energy is necessray to help reduce climate change
If we don't do it, a commercial developer will and there will be much less benefit for local people.
