On Thursday night, the Girls began working towards their Stitcher Badge as part of the Express Myself theme! 🪡🧵

We are excited to work on a new project, with each girl knitting a square that will eventually come together to create our very own new Guiding bear! Along the way, they’ll be learning a new skill and discovering the joys of knitting.

It was great to have Hilary Keys, Hazel Hay and Edith Boyd (all past-Guides or Leaders) who joined us to share their skills.

We’ll be picking up our knitting needles again this Thursday as we continue our project. 🧶🫶🏼

Back in action 🤩

Guides & Rangers started back three weeks ago, and we’ve enjoyed a range of activities to kick start another busy programme! ✨

The Girls enjoyed having past Guide Naomi Dunwoody for a fun games night. They also took part in a pen pal style exchange, by handwriting letters for a Guide unit from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, who are coming to stay at Lorne during the October half term holidays. 💙

Girls aged 10+ are welcome to join us from 8:00pm to 9:15pm in Clogher Presbyterian Church Hall for a night of fun activities! 🏐👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏽

What a brilliant day at Lorne for Girls on Track! 🛞🏁

Six Guides, Sharon and Jodie (Leader from Erne District) enjoyed the ‘Girls On Track’ activity day at Lorne on Tuesday 4th August 2026. Motorsport UK created some great experiences for the girls to get involved in, which included the mini pitstop rig, designing their own race track, having a go at block coding and presenting. There were also quads and a trail bike for the girls to view, with their owners on hand to answer questions and share their own experiences.

The event was organised to encourage girls to get involved in motorsport and to show them the different opportunities available, whether as a driver, navigator or through various other roles such as event management.

It was a fun and informative day, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the different activities on offer. Many thanks to Girlguiding Ulster for organising a wonderful day. 💙

To mark the end of another enjoyable year of 1st Clogher Girlguiding, we enjoyed a trip to The Jungle, Moneymore for some team-building games and then stopped at McDonald’s on route home. 🪣💦🍟

Guides has now finished for the Summer break and will commence in September 2026.

We enjoyed our last Guide meeting in the hall before the Summer break with a visit from Corbally Mobile Fun Farm. 🐓🐍

Amongst our visitors, we had rabbits, tortoises, snakes, gerbils and birds, which some of the Girls would definitely have taken home as pets if they were allowed! 🐭🐰

Guides will return in September 2026, welcoming old and new members aged 10-15. 💙

We were delighted to recently hand over a cheque of £350 in support of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, following our recent Car Scavenger Hunt in April. 🗺️🚘

We have no doubt that this money will support the incredible work that Air Ambulance Northern Ireland do and help them with the ongoing costs of their resources. 🚁

At Guides last week, each Girl created their own ‘Study Survival Kits’ to mark Mental Health Awareness week.

These kits were designed to help the girls through the exam period. They wrote down on a piece of paper a motivational quote of their choice and one piece of advice, before all the pieces of paper were mixed up in a bowl and everyone got to choose two that someone else had wrote. The girls decorated the bags themselves and then they were filled with a chocolate bar, hot chocolate sachet and the quotes of encouragement. 💙

We look forward to welcoming Corbally Mobile Fun Farm this week for our final meeting in the Hall, before the Summer break.

A lovely evening for our annual Prize Giving and Parents Night 💙✨

The girls were awarded prizes last night for so many wonderful achievements throughout the year, including Best Guide, Best Attendance, Helping Hand, Awesome Attitude, Most Progressed, Craft Challenges and unit badge work. Each award celebrated what the girls bring to Guides each week, in their own unique ways.

Parents were treated to some light entertainment as the girls danced to “Reach For The Stars” by S Club. The evening was brought to a close by singing campfire songs and enjoying s’mores - all part of Guiding fun and tradition. 🔥🍪
