Today we held our Ladies Lunch at the Foxfields Hotel in Billington and 80 guests attended. Once again Foxfields served us a beautiful meal. Thanks again to all the staff. We also had stalls selling jewellery, handbags etc and another selling ladies clothing and gifts. It was a very enjoyable event. We also had a very successful raffle.
Our guest speaker today was Dan Theobalds from the Cancer Bank. He began this charity whilst undergoing cancer treatment himself. The charity helps provide support for those having cancer treatment and throughout their cancer journey. They also promote a healthy lifestyle.

Our next Ladies lunch will be on Wednesday May 20th at the Foxfields Hotel.

On Saturday 16th May Bashall Barn are once again holding a coffee event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. It’s an all day event from 10am. There will be coffee, cakes etc and about 12 different stalls selling a wide selection of goods. It was a really successful event last year and all are welcome to attend.

Another date for your diary is our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. This will be on Saturday 8th August at West Bradford Village Hall from 10am to 12pm. Tickets available from the committee or pay on the door.

Just a few photos from today’s ladies lunch.

Today we held our Ladies Christmas Lunch at the Foxfields Hotel in Billington and 109 guests attended. Once again Foxfields served us a beautiful meal. We had a traditional Turkey main course followed by Christmas pudding, ice cream or cheese and biscuits. Thank you once again to all the staff. We also had an array of stalls selling Christmas items, wreaths, jewellery, handbags, cosmetics etc. It was a very enjoyable event. We also had a very successful raffle which raised over £500.
We had two special guests today too. Louise Osgood, Macmillan relationship fundraiser and Lisa Wild, Macmillan relationship fundraiser team manager. They came to congratulate our small Ribble Valley fundraising committee on the amount raised since we began. Apparently we have raised three quarters of a million pounds!! We feel very proud as raising money isn’t easy! For such a deserving charity we have to keep trying.
Our next Ladies Lunch will be on Wednesday 25th February at Foxfields Hotel.
Just a few photos of the event.

This morning we held our annual Big Macmillan Coffee morning at West Bradford Village Hall. It was a very successful event and was very well attended. The Mayor of Ribble Valley, Simon O’Rourke attended, accompanied by his consort Graham Claydon. Simon kindly drew the raffle and they went round and spent money on the stalls! The stalls included, cakes, handbags and scarves, plants, books and jigsaws, jewellery and of course the raffle! Thank you to everyone who came and all the volunteers, the people who donated the goods on the stalls and the cake makers too. We are a small committee who work hard raising money for Macmillan in the Ribble Valley and we really appreciate any help we get. I will update you with how much money was raised when all the money is counted. Here are a few photos from today.

We held our Macmillan Ladies Lunch today at the Foxfields Hotel and Spa in Billington. About 120 attended and enjoyed a delicious meal as usual. It was our first lunch without our chairperson Susan Fillary who sadly passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve. We, as a committee decided to go ahead with the lunch and hopefully many more. Susan was a ‘hard act to follow’ but I think she would have been proud of us!We held a raffle with excellent donated prizes and auctioned a splendid picnic hamper too. There were also stalls selling clothing, jewellery, handbags, scarves etc. Our speaker today was Maxine Jaeger who talked to us about her days working at the famous Harrod’s store in London. Mrs Louise Osgood the area representative for Macmillan also attended. Mrs Barbara Barker from our committee, who has been vice chair for many years, has agreed to become our new Chairman.
Here are a few photos from the event.
