The Club is based at Vicar Water Country Park, Clipstone village, near Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. The Country Park has a visitor centre with toilets and a Cafe called Rumbles and a hard standing car park all within 30/40 metres of the "Top Pond". The Park is primarily a wildlife park with two lakes, the "Top Pond" ,as well as being home to the ducks, is used exclusively by the Club for sailing
model boats. The Club sails with the permission of Newark and Sherwood District Council, and under the conditions of a Licence issued by them. Sailing is limited to electric and sail power only. Absolutely no IC motors allowed. Sailing days are Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday until dusk when the Park gates are locked. The Club membership is around fifty, both male and female. Catagories of membership are Family, Senior and Junior. The first Saturday of each month is regatta day. A more for fun than serious competition day involving the racing of Club 500 boats followed by yacht racing. Indoor flying of model helicopters and ultra lightweight aircraft is also available to members at a nearby location on Monday mornings. More information is available from [email protected]
