🗓️Monday, 7 September
⛪️ @ Kenn Road Methodist Church, Kenn Road, Clevedon

It’s been a wonderful summer but we’re looking forward to starting our new term on Monday September 7 - with new members welcome!

If you want to come and sing or sit and have a listen - we’d love to see you! You can have a free taster no scary auditions! (7.45pm, Kenn Road Methodist Church, Clevedon).

We’ll be singing Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle - which translates as a small solemn mass - but this beautiful piece isn’t little or indeed very solemn. The composer himself describes it as one of his sins of old age as it is dramatic and energetic as well as deeply moving!

Our concert falls on November 28 this year which we’ll be performing at St John the Evangelist Church, Clevedon. Thanks Chris Emmerson: Photography - Music - Film for this picture of our last concert.

Beautiful service to celebrate the life of our former Chairman Gordon Murdoch held at St John the Evangelist Church, Clevedon today.

We were delighted to sing the concluding pieces of Bach’s St John Passion which were his particular favourites ‘Sleep Well’ and ‘O Jesus when I come to die.’

It was a wonderful service for a wonderful man.

Clevedon Choral’s members and friends have been deeply saddened to hear of the recent death of our much-loved and respected former Chairman Gordon Murdoch.

Gordon joined us in 2021 and amazingly, became Chairman a year later in May, standing down in January this year after a very successful term and one that he thoroughly enjoyed.

Gordon’s leadership was first class and he will be sorely missed by all who sang with him over the last few years.

We will be singing his favourite two pieces from Bach’s St John Passion at his funeral on Friday, 31 July which will be held at St John the Evangelist Church, Clevedon at 12 noon.

Thanks Chris Emmerson: Photography - Music - Film for these pictures.

⛪️ What a fantastic time we had in Gloucester concluding with a truly uplifting and spirited Evensong performance at Gloucester Cathedral yesterday afternoon.

🎶 Our rendition of the Parry earned high praise from the clergy - apparently he ‘could listen to that all day’.

☀️Fab concentration from everyone in the very hot weather! Thanks Matthew Clark - Baritone, Conductor & Composer for helping us prepare for this special performance.

🎶We were also delighted to be accompanied by Philip Aspden on the newly completed grand organ.

Thanks Chris Emmerson: Photography - Music - Film for the fab photos of our city break!
