Martin will be running the London Marathon this month, representing CMRC.
With just a few weeks left to go, see how he has got on with his training!

I ran the London Marathon in 2006. Back then, 119,000 people applied to run the 26th London Marathon and 47,200 were given a place. In simple terms, for every five applicants, two got in . Looking back, that seems unbelievable.

🏃‍♂️ Cleobury Mortimer 10K🏃‍♀️

The countdown is on… just 119 days until the Cleobury Mortimer 10K on Sunday 5th July!

This is a tough but rewarding course, known for its hills, beautiful countryside, and fantastic atmosphere. And of course, there’s the infamous Ron Hill Hill waiting for you near the finish — a challenge every runner remembers!

The good news? You won’t face it alone. Our amazing team of marshals – the best around – will be there all the way round to cheer you on and keep you going when it gets tough.

🏅 Every finisher receives a medal, along with a few other race mementos to remember the day.

Whether you’re chasing a course PB, tackling your first 10K, or simply taking on the challenge of the hills, this is a race with a brilliant community spirit.

Tonight was our final running club session of the year, and what a way to finish! We enjoyed a festive run, followed by mince pies, and ended the evening by handing out our remaining few trophies.

Huge congratulations to all of our 2025 award winners — every one of you was thoroughly deserving. Thank you all for another great year of running together, and we look forward to many more miles in the year ahead. 🎄🏃‍♂️

Happy 10th birthday to Cleobury Mortimer Running Club! 🎈🎈🎈

This autumn, CMRC turned 10 and last night we celebrated with a fantastic party 🎉 We would like to say some thank yous to all those who helped make it possible!

Firstly, thank you to Billie’s Banquets for the fabulous buffet; it was absolutely delicious - the best scotch eggs ever!!

Thank you also to The Cakery in Cleobury for making the most wonderful birthday cakes for us! They were incredible, and looked and tasted amazing.

Cleobury Mortimer Sports&Social Club was the perfect venue yet again - thank you for always making us feel so welcome!

Thank you to everyone on the CMRC committee for all of the organising, but particularly to committee members Nicole and Ian. Nicole pretty much did all of the prep work, sorting out our food, cakes, decorations and party bags. Ian brought the silent disco and photo slide shows to life through his tech genius, and even organised some memorable 🐔 games for us! Thanks guys!

Lastly thank you to all our members who came along to celebrate with us! We hoped you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did 😊

Here is to the next 10 years!

We are very excited about the trophy cabinet that Terry is making for us! It is looking great! Huge thank you to the Cleobury Mortimer Men's Shed.

Joint member of CMRC and CM Men's Shed, Terry Hopkins, making a fabulous job of this beautiful oak cabinet to house the Running Club trophies at the Sports & Social Club. Thanks to John Hammond for sourcing the wood and Ron Blything for his advice and guidance.
