A Life Behind Bars...

Things have progressed quite a bit since I started doing this as a hobby. I still have a full time job as a fundraiser for a local charity, and I still help out with the running of our own charity, Not Home Alone, but with the remaining time I have, I can usually be found tinkering with all kinds of bikes - and for a continually growing customer base.

I offer an honest approach, if it’s broken and fixable I’ll repair it, if it’s past its ‘best before date’ I’ll tell you and also offer a selling service on behalf of clients looking to move their bikes on in return for a 10% commission.

Tyres, Punctures, Broken Chains, Brakes, Gears, Seats - whatever the problem, if it needs a bit of attention, I’ll have a go - and if I can’t fix it there’s no charge. The design of cycles has evolved quite considerably in recent years. Aside from the idea that they run on two wheels (hence BIcycle), the components and how they work in conjunction with one another is far from the traditional bicycles of old. Many follows the same principles, but as different cycling disciplines require more aggressive riding and harsher environments, the bikes themselves have to stand up to the punishment they receive.

I don’t generally carry stock of parts etc - there are simply too many to consider, but many are available on quick turnaround, sometimes next day delivery. I can generally strip and clean one day and rebuild the next day when parts arrive.
