🌳🧭 Scouts Geocaching with our friends from 11th Grimsby Scouts 🧭🌳

This week our Scouts headed to Weelsby Woods for an evening of geocaching with Scouts from 11th Grimsby.

The Scouts found plenty of hidden caches 👏 and enjoyed working together.

Our Scouts take part in the Golden Peg Events and enjoyed every minute racing across Cleethorpes.

📣We are in need of adult volunteers for the Scout section at 4th Cleethorpes Scout Group to be able to continue to offer our Scouts the opportunity to take part in future events

⚜️🏆Scouts compete for the much coveted Golden Peg in a Race Across Cleethorpes⚜️🏆

We couldnt have a focus on the without a mention of the 17 teams from Scout troops across the District who earlier this month took part in the most recent in a series of much loved competitions to win the

The 'Race Across Cleethorpes' challenge offered a great chance for Scouts to , work together and make strategic decisions. 🤔With tolls to pay on their chosen routes should they spend precious minutes🕔 completing challenges to replenish the cash or race on🏃‍♂️‍➡️ and risk running out of money or time before the finish? ⏳️ Think Race Across the World, but with a much smaller budget and no passports required but just as intense! 🌍😂

And the results
🏆Golden Peg winners were 1st New Waltham - Grimsby - Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout Group

Silver Peg - 1st Healing Scout Group

Bronze Peg - 11th Grimsby Scouts

👏👏Congratulations to winners and runners up and to every Scout who took part.

📣Shout out to volunteer Kate Brown and the rest of the volunteer team involved. Another great scouting event in the Golden Peg series. Can't wait to see what you come up with next😁

⚜️Scouts on target with Tomahawk throwing at Cherry Garth Scout Campsite🪓

It was a great opportunity to try something new and with perseverance the Scouts improved their skills. Well done Scouts

We have vacancies for adult volunteers in the Scout section at 4th Cleethorpes Scout Group. Due to a change in leaders work commitments we are in need of one or two adults who together can take the Scout section forward. We will have cubs soon moving up to Scouts and would like to ensure our young people can continue on their scouting journey gaining skills, building confidence and making memories.

No scouting background or experience needed as we are here to support and help

⚜️Backwoods Skills⚜️

Just imagine how satisfying it is to start with a piece of wood🪵 and using safe knife 🔪 skills whittle a spoon 🥄 which you can then use to eat the noodles 🍜 you have cooked on an open fire 🔥

This is exactly what the Scouts at 4th Cleethorpes Scout Group were doing last week around the campfire at Cherry Garth Scout Campsite.

This week the Cubs were working towards their Communicator Badge. They learnt about Morse Code and Secret Codes, tested their memory by learning some fun facts before being distracted by each giving a short talk about themselves then repeating the facts back. Although the Cub section is managing for adult support, the Beaver and Scout sections need extra support and all three sections can always use more help.

Could you spare us some time to support our young people either on a section night or behind the scenes as a Group Trustee, helping with fundraising, doing maintenance etc.?

Ever wondered what our do? 🤔

Beavers is the scout section for 6-8 year old girls and boys who whilst having fun with their friends do and achieve so many things. They
🔹️play games🔹️climb
🔹️experiment 🔹️read 🔹️camp🔹️build🔹️cook
🔹️explore🔹️craft🔹️learn
🔹️help🔹️visit🔹️plant 🔹️sing🔹️ hike 🔹️paint 🔹️bike 🔹️look at the stars 🔹️ try new things🔹️ learn about the world 🔹️️have adventures🔹️gain badges 🔹️make new friends. Pheew 😀Check out the beaver badge poster to see more activities

🔊We also need more adults to join us on our adventures as none of the above happens without a team of volunteers.

⚜️Where are we?
We are so fortunate that 4th Cleethorpes Scout Group HQ is located so close to the Cleethorpes Seafront. Less than a 5 min stroll🚶‍♀️‍➡️ yesterday evening and some of the Scouts were soon on the beach exploring the use of traditional tracking signs ↗️ with of course the also traditional stop for posing for a picture along the way 📸🤣.

We provide a fun, safe, supportive environment for young people - beavers, cubs and scouts to
