Have you ever wondered what a typical day at the CARE shop looks like for one of our volunteers? Meet Emily! 💙

Emily starts each day with a warm hello to the team before checking our Facebook messages and eBay account, making sure enquiries are answered and our online listings are running smoothly. Before the doors open, she helps get the shop looking its best, ready to welcome our customers.

Throughout the morning, Emily keeps busy serving customers on the till, answering phone calls to arrange furniture collection bookings, and offering a friendly face to everyone who visits. One highlight recently was helping a couple to buy a pushchair. Thanks to her years of experience, Emily was able to demonstrate exactly how it worked, giving the new owners confidence before they left the shop.

After a well-earned lunch break, Emily swaps the shop floor for an equally important role behind the scenes. She contacts clients who have applied for furniture donations, carefully matching their needs with the items we have available and arranging delivery dates.

Before heading home, Emily checks our social media messages one last time, signs out, and says goodbye to the team—ready to do it all again another day.

Every task, whether it's serving customers, answering calls, supporting families, or helping people access essential furniture, makes a real difference. Volunteers like Emily are at the heart of everything we do, and we're so grateful for the time, skills, and kindness they bring to CARE. Could you spare a few hours a week to make a difference? We’d love to hear from you.

Are you having a clear out this summer? We'll take your pre-loved furniture to help people in need!
We are in urgent need of the following items of furniture,
🛏 Single and Double Bed Frames, and Double Mattresses
🚪 Wardrobes
👕 Chest of Drawers and Bedside Cabinets
👶Cots

Upholstered furniture (including mattresses) must retain its fire safety label, all other items must be in good, clean condition.
☎️ If you can't get items to us, we offer a free of charge collection service in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and the surrounding area. To book a collection, please call us on 01472 232312.
👫 Furniture donated to us will be given to any families in need, or sold in our shop to raise funds for our housing and crisis support work services.

🇬🇧 Armed Forces Day is here 🇬🇧

Cleethorpes is ready and the festivities are now taking place, with air displays, military parades and entertainment taking place both days across the resort.

We are open both days, as usual, 10am to 4pm stocking all your usual favourites with plenty of bargains.

Our thanks as ever go to for their amazing work on our Armed Forces themed display - all handmade (including the fantastic crocheted aircraft and soldiers).
