People and the DALES We are a community outreach project based at YDMT enabling disadvantaged groups to get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales.

YDMT - Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust's People and the DALES is a nationally recognised community outreach project that works with disadvantaged groups that have little or no previous experience of the countryside. Since May 2009 over 4750 people have visited the Yorkshire Dales National Park through the project and taken part in fun, active, and thought provoking activities. People are encourag

ed to return to the Dales or visit their local green space independently, enabling a new generation of people to benefit from the positive benefits of being in the great outdoors. We run training for community group leaders giving them the skills and confidence to bring groups out into the countryside for themselves. We also run training of other providers in working with diverse groups in the outdoors and the health and well-being benefits of engaging in outdoor activity.
