Tendring Eldercare is a charity that addresses the areas of disadvantaged and vulnerable older people suffering from a disability and in need of independent living support. Our project is not new but we have been hands-on for over 30 years. Despite suffering cutbacks in our statutory funding we remain committed to our front line services, so that it does not have any impact on the elderly clients

we look after every day and who rely on us totally for an escape from their own 4 wall and solitude. We are a charity based in the Tendring area of Essex primarily providing day care facilities for the elderly, disabled and isolated people throughout the local area.

Earlier this week, we were delighted to welcome some very special visitors from Little Pals Nursery to our Well-Being & Respite Day Centre in Clacton-on-Sea.

Our clients and the children spent time together enjoying a game of Snakes and Ladders, trying their hand at bowling, and sharing plenty of smiles, laughter and conversation along the way.

Intergenerational activities like these are incredibly important. They help bring different generations together, reduce loneliness, create meaningful friendships, and provide wonderful opportunities for both young and old to learn from one another.

A huge thank you to everyone at Little Pals Nursery for taking the time to visit us. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

We had another lovely day at Tendring Eldercare yesterday.

Our clients enjoyed a range of games and arts and crafts activities, with plenty of creativity on display. What is always nice to see is how these activities naturally encourage conversation, laughter, and friendships, with everyone sharing stories and supporting one another.

For many people, the social side of attending is just as important as the activities themselves, helping to reduce loneliness and keep minds active in a welcoming and supportive environment.

A big thank you to our staff and volunteers for helping make the day so enjoyable for everyone.

Our final award today was presented to Aldi, Clacton-on-Sea.

As a charity, we have been working with Aldi for the past nine years. During that time, we have collected surplus food several times each week, helping to ensure that many tonnes of perfectly good produce were saved from landfill and instead redistributed throughout the community to those in need, as well as being used within our day centre.

A special thank you must go to Aldi for the incredible support they provided during the COVID-19 pandemic. They became our lead supermarket partner and enabled us to order food in bulk directly from their warehouses. This support allowed us to create and distribute thousands of food parcels to local people during one of the most challenging periods our community has faced.

We greatly value the work Aldi does within the community. We are also incredibly grateful to the individuals who work within the store, particularly the management team, who have consistently gone above and beyond to support us and the people we serve.

It was a pleasure to present them with a Tendring Eldercare Certificate of Recognition in appreciation of their longstanding support and commitment to our charity and the wider community.

The second Certificate of Recognition awarded today was presented to Morrisons Waterglade, Clacton-on-Sea.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, when Tendring Eldercare launched its food bank to support those in need, Morrisons Waterglade provided us with substantial donations week after week for many months. Their generosity and commitment helped not only older people within our community but families and individuals across the wider area.

Their support enabled us to continue providing vital assistance at a time when many people were facing significant challenges.

It was a privilege to visit the store today, thank the team once again for their kindness and support, and present them with this well-deserved award in recognition of the difference they have made to our community.

Today, we were delighted to present our Tendring Eldercare Certificate of Recognition to the wonderful team at M&S Foodhall, Walton-on-the-Naze.

This award recognises their continued kindness, generosity and support through their weekly donations of surplus food to our food bank. These donations help us support local people and families who are facing difficult times, ensuring that good food reaches those who need it most rather than going to waste.

Thank you to everyone at M&S Foodhall, Walton-on-the-Naze, for your ongoing commitment to our community. Your support is making a real difference to the lives of local people, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.

Our communities are filled with selfless individuals, businesses, and charities who go above and beyond every day to support those in need.

As Tendring Eldercare approaches its 45th anniversary, our Chairman has launched the Tendring Eldercare Certificate of Recognition. This special award has been created to recognise those who make a positive difference to the lives of older people within our community.

The certificate is awarded:

"In recognition of your kindness, care, and support towards older people within our community. Whether through small acts or wider efforts, your contribution has made a meaningful difference to the lives and well-being of others."

Today, we are delighted to present the first three Tendring Eldercare Certificates of Recognition to local businesses across Tendring that have supported our work over the years.

Keep an eye on our page throughout the day as we share more about each business, their contribution, and why they have been selected to receive this award.

Thank you to everyone who helps make our community a kinder and more caring place.

We had such a wonderful time earlier this week at Tendring Eldercare ๐Ÿ’›

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the lovely children from Little Pals Nursery in Clacton, and what a visit it was. The room was full of laughter, smiles and genuine moments of connection as our clients and the children spent time together.

From playing games with the parachute to sharing conversations and plenty of giggles, it was clear just how much everyone enjoyed themselves. These intergenerational visits are so special, bringing joy, energy and companionship to all involved.

A huge thank you to Little Pals for coming to see us. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

We had a great visit to Dovercourt yesterday ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our clients enjoyed feeding the ducks and swans, followed by tea and cake.

Trips like this are a nice change of scenery and a chance to spend time together.

๐Ÿšจ BIG NEWS: WEโ€™RE OPENING SATURDAYS ๐Ÿšจ

Expanding support for older people and carers across our community

We are delighted to share that, due to increasing demand, our Well Being & Respite Day Centre will soon be opening on Saturdays.

This is a significant and positive step forward, allowing us to support even more older people, including those living with dementia, while also providing vital respite for their carers.

For nearly 45 years, Tendring Eldercare has been committed to reducing loneliness and improving wellbeing โ€” and this expansion means we can continue that mission even further.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Whether it is enjoying a warm meal, taking part in activities, or simply having a friendly chat, our centre offers a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

If you or someone you know could benefit, or if you would like to find out more, please do get in touch.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support ๐Ÿ’™
