✨ What a summer of Crafternoons! 🎨✨

We’ve loved spending the summer getting creative with you and your families! From junk modelling and sensory shakers to lots of colourful, messy and imaginative creations, it’s been fantastic seeing everyone get stuck in. 💕✂️🖍️

🌟 SWAN – Support With Additional Needs 🌟

Are you parenting a child with additional needs? 💙

Our FREE 11-week SWAN course is designed to support parents and give you practical tools, ideas and strategies to help navigate the challenges that can come with parenting a child with additional needs.

Across the 11 weeks, we’ll explore topics including:

💙 Positive parenting skills
💙 Special time and building connection
💙 Social and emotional skills
💙 Effective praise
💙 Practical routines and boundaries
💙 Coping with change
💙 Natural and logical consequences
💙 Keeping your child safe and building resilience
💙 Peer pressure and stranger danger
💙 Looking after **you** as a parent

📅 Starts: 17th September 2026

EXTRA – Support for Families is looking to expand our team of Associate Facilitators! 💛

Could you help make a difference to families across North Essex?

As demand for our services continues to grow, we’re looking for warm, engaging and passionate people to join us and deliver our parenting programmes, workshops and family activities.

We’d love to hear from people with experience in areas such as:

💛 Parenting & family support
💛 SEND & neurodiversity
💛 Mental health & emotional wellbeing
💛 Youth work or education
💛 Counselling, coaching or therapeutic approaches
💛 Group facilitation, adult learning or training delivery

Lived experience is valued too, and you don’t need previous experience of delivering our specific programmes.

What we offer:

✨ Flexible associate opportunities
✨ Competitive sessional rates on a self-employed basis
✨ Training, supervision and ongoing support
✨ Opportunities to deliver both in person and online
✨ The chance to make a genuine difference to families across North Essex

We’ve had such a brilliant summer at EXTRA, but we’re now getting ready for the new term — and we’ve got lots of exciting courses and workshops coming your way! 💛

We’ll be announcing more throughout the term, but we’re kicking things off with…

🦢 SWAN – Support With Additional Needs 🦢

Our FREE 11-week course for parents of children with additional needs is starting this September.

SWAN is a supportive, friendly course where we recognise the individual challenges families face and explore practical, positive parenting strategies, including:

💛 Developing social & emotional skills
💛 Effective praise and practical routines
💛 Coping with change and setting boundaries
💛 Natural & logical consequences
💛 Keeping your child safe and building resilience
💛 Looking after yourself as a parent
💛 And much more!

Our final Crafternoon session of the summer is coming up on Wednesday — and we’re going out with a little bit of sparkle! ✨

This time we’ll be getting creative with:

And of course, we’ll also have our FREE family lunch for everyone to enjoy! 🥪🍎💛

What a brilliant turn out we had for our Crafternoon this week! 🎨✨

It was so lovely to see so many families joining us for an afternoon of creativity, fun and plenty of smiles. 💛

And a huge thank you to Operation: Party Time for the AMAZING face painting! 🎨🦋🦄 The children looked fantastic and absolutely loved choosing their designs!

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a lovely afternoon. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 🥰
