Money is available for potential Regainers to help provide them with the specialist equipment they need to enable them to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. A brilliant bit of coverage for Danny’s Big Challenge! 🙌

Danny was featured on STV, sharing his story and the incredible Coast to Coast challenge he’ll be taking on across Scotland this September.

Regain didn’t get a mention this time, but it’s still fantastic to see Danny’s challenge reaching a wider audience and raising awareness of what he is about to take on.

And even more exciting- there’s talk that STV may follow Danny across all three days of the challenge, which would be amazing! 👀

Just a few weeks to go now!!

A fantastic session yesterday with the RNLI, talking with lifeguards openly about the reality of spinal cord injury from the moment an injury happens, through rehabilitation, to rebuilding confidence, independence and a sense of possibility.

It was brilliant for Regain to collaborate with the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) and the RNLI, bringing together lived experience, specialist support and different perspectives on life after spinal cord injury.

We talked about what a spinal cord injury actually means, the immediate aftermath, the support people need when life suddenly changes, and what rebuilding life after the most severe forms of spinal cord injury (tetraplegia) can look like.

A huge thank you to the RNLI for creating the space for this conversation, to SIA for collaborating with us, and to everyone who joined, listened and asked questions 💙💜

Only a few weeks to go until Danny’s Big Challenge 💪

From 23–25 September 2026, Danny will take on an extraordinary 79-mile Coast to Coast journey across Scotland using an off-road XT4 wheelchair controlled entirely with his chin.

Danny is an army veteran, C3/C4 tetraplegic and has been paralysed from the neck down since a life-changing motorcycle accident in 2019. Seven years on, he is preparing for the biggest challenge of his life - to raise funds for Regain and help support other people living with tetraplegia.

We’re looking for people and organisations to get behind Danny’s challenge. You can support him by donating, sponsoring part of the journey, helping with event costs or specialist equipment, or simply sharing his story.

The disability ballot for the 2027 London Marathon is now open!🏅

If you have a disability and would like to take part in the London Marathon, you can now apply for an Assisted Wheelchair place.

Applications close on Monday 24 August 2026, so make sure you get your entry in before the deadline. If you’re successful, you’ll find out in September.

Our very own Rosey took on the London Marathon for Regain in 2026, completing the challenge with the support of her running team and having an incredible experience along the way!

London Marathon Events allows assisted wheelchair participants to have a team of 4 support runners, with up to 2 supporting them at any one time.

If you’re successful in the ballot and would like to fundraise for Regain, we’ll support you every step of the way, from helping to source a suitable wheelchair or trike, to setting up your fundraising page and organising your Regain kit for the big day.

In 2026, our London Marathon fundraisers raised an incredible £12,500, which helped us part-fund 5 grants for people with tetraplegia.

If you apply, please let us know [email protected], and if you’re successful, we’d love to welcome you to Team Regain for the 2027 London Marathon!

Some of our Regain beneficiaries recently came together to donate items to Your Place, a homeless shelter in Canning Town.

We’re really proud to see our community supporting others and helping people who may be going through a difficult time.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed, and to the team at Your Place for the important work they do every day 💙

Exciting things are coming! 👀

Last week, we met with the brilliant team at Uncommon Creative Studio for a strategy and planning session around an amazing new fundraising initiative for Regain.

We can’t share too much just yet, but we’re incredibly excited about what we’re creating together. Watch this space, more news coming very soon!

A Regain grant has helped Ellinor purchase a new wheelchair add-on, giving her greater freedom to explore places that would otherwise be difficult to access.

During a recent visit to the village of Beer in Devon, Ellinor was able to reach a beautiful spot on the beach where the fishing boats are pulled out and the crab traps piled up. There’s a fishmonger just at beachside that was her destination to get fresh catch for a big meal with friends. With access to the beach down a crazy steep road, neither this beautiful moment nor the tasty fish and hand dived scallops could have happened without a power assist.

“We’re enjoying a calm sit on the beach in Beer. I could only get to this idyllic spot thanks to my new add-on, which was part-funded by Regain.”

We love seeing how the right equipment can create more freedom, independence and opportunities to enjoy everyday moments with family and friends.

Our trustees recently came together for a productive meeting to discuss Regain’s plans, priorities and how we can continue making a real difference for people living with tetraplegia.

Last week, we were kindly invited to the Rugby Football League headquarters to discuss safety in the game and the prevention of spinal injuries.

We then explored the wonderfully “sunny” city of Manchester before finishing the day with a fantastic St Helens win! A brilliant and important day all round.
