🔥 What an EPIC weekend! 🔥

Our Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts braved the chilly weather and had an absolute blast at our first-ever combined group camp! We were even lucky enough to be joined by the awesome Explorer group from our district. 🏕️

Two nights under canvas, filled with fun activities and making memories that will last a lifetime. Saturday night's wood-fired pizzas were a HUGE hit (who can resist cheesy goodness around a campfire?! 🍕🔥).

One of the highlights? We were able to offer air rifle shooting to all the young people, and for many, it was their first time! We love giving our members these new experiences and helping them discover new skills. 🎯

A massive thank you to all the leaders and volunteers who made this camp possible. You're the real heroes! 🙌

We're on the hunt for someone to complete our team here at 1st Cirencester.

Can you drive a spreadsheet? Do you know how to use internet banking?

Everything is set up, we just need someone to punch the numbers regularly, make some payments and send the occasional email.

This is a purely behind the scenes role so no need to put on a uniform!

🏃‍♀️ INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT at the Cotswold Marathon! 🏆

Despite challenging conditions with heavy mud, near-zero visibility, and cold, wet weather, our Scouts showed amazing determination and resilience on Saturday.

Special congratulations to our girls' team who won the Girls' Trophy, completing the Bronze route in an outstanding 3 hours 11 minutes - placing 4th overall! An exceptional achievement, especially considering they were competing against older participants.

Our other two teams demonstrated fantastic Scout spirit, working together to complete the route in 4 hours 52 minutes. The teamwork they showed epitomizes what Scouting is all about.
We're incredibly proud of all our young people, aged 11-13, who tackled this demanding challenge. They truly lived up to our motto of doing their best!

Well done to everyone who participated, supported, and helped prepare our teams for this event. You're all stars! ⭐

Last week’s Taskmaster mayhem! 💥

Our Scouts put their teamwork to the ultimate test in our very own version of Taskmaster! 🧠💪

From memory challenges to organizational feats, they tackled every task with enthusiasm and creativity.

A special shoutout to our “nuclear waste disposal experts” who…well, let’s just say Cirencester might need a little extra radiation shielding after their efforts! 😂

Huge thanks to RAU for continuing to be such an amazing venue for our meetings.

🩹🤕 Great Emergency Aid lesson from our Young Leader, Mackenzie tonight. Scouts learned to place an unresponsive casualty in the recovery position and how to admister chest compressions. Real lifesaving skills!

⚜️ We also spoke about remembering and discussed a thought provoking video on the scale of the impact of conflict.

We've been experimenting with different cooking methods, from gas stoves to homemade penny stoves. It's been a blast! 💥

⚠️📢This is a plea to the community....

So this happened on Friday 😭

Our Scout Hut has been deemed unfit for use by Cirencester Town Council and we need to find a new home.

The council have committed to rebuilding on the site but we're going to need to relocate for 2-3 years whilst this happens.

We are still open for business and our Scouts, Cubs and Beavers will continue but we're going to have to improvise over the coming months until we find somewhere semipermanent.

Please reach out if you have a space we could use to hold our weekly activities or have somewhere we could store our equipment (it's currently locked in the hut 😢)!!!

Our scouts had an absolutely amazing weekend at the Vale of White Horse Gliding Centre gli ✈️

They soared through the skies, took the controls of gliders, and even learned about air navigation, meteorology, and aircraft mechanics. ☁️☀️
