As the Volunteer Centre for the Forest of Dean we support volunteering that involves individuals, voluntary and community groups and organisations, public sector bodies and private companies. The services we provide include:

- Advertising voluntary opportunities
- Recruiting volunteers
- Providing training
- Equipment hire
- Office services such as printing and photocopying
- Development advice
- Delivering community projects
- Providing information and networking opportunities

🏅 LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2026: FOIST Collective! 🏅
Since 1989, FOIST Collective has kept grassroots and original live music thriving in the Forest — entirely run by volunteers, for the love of music. It all began promoting gigs at the old Coleford Community Centre, with early shows from acts like EMF and Carter The Unstoppable S*x Machine, who were on Top of the Pops the very next week!

Today, FOIST hosts regular gig nights at The Club in Newnham-on-Severn and curates a stage at Coleford Music Festival. As a not-for-profit, they keep ticket prices low and pass proceeds straight to the artists, having promoted over 40 bands from across Britain, America and Canada in the last four years alone.

A true Forest institution, and thoroughly deserving Lifetime Achievement winners. Congratulations to everyone at FOIST, past and present! 🎸🎉
