We help young people facing barriers gain confidence, qualifications and their first steps into outdoor careers.

The foundation has been set up to:

- Fund adaptive equipment and training in these fields to afford people, with additional needs, the opportunity to experience outdoor adventure previously limited to the able bodied.
- Increase awareness of para-sport.
- Fund young people from less privileged or diverse backgrounds in adventure sports.
- Qualify young people wit

h skills that will assist them in their future careers.
- Work with people who have SEN requirements or additional needs, providing specialist training to instructors and service users alike.
- Educate people of all ages in sustainability and conservation of the local area.
- Provide mentorship and safe space for young people who may never have experienced either of these things before.

The Mendip Foundation is back! 🎉 We’re relaunching our charity with a renewed mission: helping young people facing barriers build confidence, earn qualifications and take their first steps into careers in the outdoors.

Because not everyone gets the same opportunity to discover their potential.

Through adventure, instructor training, nationally recognised qualifications and practical experience, we can help young people build the confidence and skills to begin careers in the outdoor industry.

And to celebrate our relaunch, we’re giving away £500+ worth of prizes! 🎟️

We’ve teamed up with brilliant local partners, and every ticket sold helps create more opportunities for young people to find their future outdoors.

Every entry to our Summer Prize Draw helps fund scholarships, equipment, training, travel and mentoring for young people who otherwise wouldn't have these opportunities.

Last month we welcomed nine young people from Young Bristol for a couple of days out in nature enjoying camping, caving and climbing.

Other than taking part in brilliant activities, it was also a chance for them to explore what working in the outdoors might be like.

At the Mendip Foundation, our goal isn't just to introduce young people to adventure - it's to support them to lead it.

We can't wait to support one of these brilliant young people through 18-weeks of training to become a fully qualified outdoor instructor.

It was fantastic to get out on the water this month with the brilliant trainees on Young Bristol's Outdoor Employment Programme.

We were blown away by the enthusiasm and engagement from the group and can't wait to support them in their journeys into employment.

This is just the beginning though - we’ve got some exciting new programmes and opportunities in the works, with more to share very soon…
