**THREE SHOUTS IN ONE AFTERNOON FOR MUDEFORD RNLI**

Mudeford RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew were kept busy on the afternoon of 13 June, launching to three separate incidents along the Mudeford and Bournemouth coastline.

The first call came at 12.24pm to reports of three people in the water holding onto a capsized jet ski just 60 metres off Mudeford beach. The lifeboat launched at 12.34pm and was on scene within six minutes, where it was established the casualties had managed to recover the jet ski and return safely to harbour.

While returning to station, the crew were re-tasked at 1.01pm to a vessel taking on water around half a mile south of Bournemouth Pier. On arrival, the occupants chose to remain onboard. Lifeboat crew placed a salvage pump on the vessel and remained on scene while it was taken under tow and later brought ashore at Sandbanks, where further assistance was available.

The third call of the day came later in the afternoon to a broken-down jet ski drifting towards Chewton Bunny with two people onboard. The lifeboat launched at 4.43pm and, due to swell conditions, towed the jet ski and its occupants safely back to Mudeford Quay.

The lifeboat returned to station and was back on service by 5.45pm.

Helm Nathan Jauns said:
“Even in calmer conditions there can be unexpected swell. All personal watercraft users should be prepared for the possibility of capsizing. Always wear a suitable lifejacket, carry a means of calling for help, and make sure you know how to right your craft.”

So far this year, Mudeford RNLI’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat *Henrietta H* has launched 27 times.

If you’re heading out on the water, please check conditions, stay within your limits, and make sure you’re properly equipped.

A really special moment on the water this week as Mudeford RNLI were honoured to support the annual Blessing of the Waters.

Organised by All Saints Church, Reverend Wendy Cooper was rowed out into the Run by local fisherman and Mudeford RNLI volunteer Helm, Pete Dadds. Members of the Mudeford RNLI crew onboard their Atlantic 85, Henrietta H, helped ensure everything ran smoothly on the day.

In true Mudeford style, Wendy perched on top of a lobster pot to deliver the blessing — offering prayers for the safety of RNLI crews, local fishermen, and all who make their living or spend time on the water.
