With the lovely weather this evening, we took the Beavers outdoors. First of all there was tree climbing, then cartwheels (thanks for the demo Tucker), then we learned leap frog, and finally a trip to the park. I now need sleep.😂
*no leaders were harmed in the making of this post!

Beavers and Cubs (and Leaders) had a thrilling day at Jodrell Bank today. This is a (large) selection of the many photos, taken by leaders today, of all the happy/excited/learning/absorbed/thoughtful/exhilarated, etc., expressions we've seen on our young people's faces. We've learnt a lot, we've watched an immersive film about the solar system in a dome, we've done experiments and watched rockets (of the plastic bottle kind) being launched in front of us. We've climbed on structures on the adventure trail and played on the play park, and most importantly... we've eaten our lunch 🙄😂.

All our young Scouts have been a credit to Eccleston Scout Group, and we can't thank the staff enough at Jodrell Bank for their assistance in organising this day.

The sun certainly shone on us today for the St. George's Day Chorley District Parade. Thank you to all those who gave up your Sunday morning to walk with us.

At Beavers this week we've been making fire breathing dragons as St. George's Day celebrations. What do you think of our scary dragons? 🐲

We may be on our Easter break from our regular Scout sessions, but as Scout Leaders - we carry on. All our sections have planning meetings, event organisation has been done, and one lucky leader got to swim in the Irish Sea off Walney Island early on Sunday morning as part of a NWSMP course. She has just about warmed up! 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.

Squirrels braved the elements tonight & had a trip to the farm to see lambs, pigs, cows and ask lots of questions! Very proud of the littlest of our scout group 💪🌧️🙌

Excuse the massive photo dump, but it was an interesting week at Scouts - let me explain....
So, last week we made our pizza ovens by wrapping large cardboard boxes in tinfoil. This week the Scouts made pizzas from scratch, made and lit fires, and then using their pizza ovens cooked them over the fire embers.
However, this is Scouts. Not everything goes to plan, and that is OK because we plan, we risk assess, we adapt. There was no adapting for 6 of our Scouts though as their oven set on fire and what was smoked pizzas for most, was charcoal for this poor six. 😳😂
