As another busy week comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect and simply say thank you.
The past seven days have once again shown the power of community. Last weekend alone, the Foundation was proud to support St Catherine’s Hospice at their Yellow Day Garden Fete and attend Picnic in the Park at Astley Park alongside Victor Magpie, helping to engage with local residents and celebrate everything that makes our communities special. Throughout the week, we then continued delivering sessions and activities for people of all ages across Chorley and beyond.
From older persons groups and friendship sessions to Junior Magpies, walking football, Blokes United and Growing Armed Forces Veterans provision, every conversation, every smile and every opportunity created through the Foundation represents a positive impact on somebody’s life.
None of this happens by accident.
It happens because of the incredible network of people and organisations who support the Foundation every day. Our participants, volunteers, trustees, funders, partners and supporters all play a vital role in helping us improve the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of local people.
To our volunteers, thank you. Whether you are leading a session, making brews, setting up chairs, offering encouragement or simply being there to listen, your contribution is invaluable. The impact you have on people’s lives is far greater than you may ever realise.
Thank you to our funders, including the National League Trust The National Lottery and Jigsaw Homes North, whose support enables us to continue delivering opportunities and tackling social isolation across our communities.
We would also like to thank our partners, including Chorley Council Lancashire Football Association Inspire Youth Zone Chorley and the many organisations that work alongside us throughout the year.
A special thank you goes to Chorley Football Club. The Foundation is incredibly proud of its connection to the Club, and we are grateful for the continued support of the directors, staff, players, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who champions the work we do within the community.
We would also like to recognise our Board of Trustees, led by Darren Jenkinson, whose leadership, guidance and commitment has guided us to where we are and continues to help steer the Foundation forward.
Community is not built by one person or one organisation. It is built through people working together with a shared purpose. Every volunteer hour, every partnership, every donation, every conversation and every act of kindness contributes to something bigger than all of us.
To everyone who has played a part this week, and to those who continue to support us throughout the year, thank you. Together, you are helping us touch lives across generations and create stronger, healthier and more connected communities.
