Andy Burnham, in a statement after his first speech outside 10 Downing Street, said: "On my first day as prime minister, I'm announcing this government's commitment to finally end long-term rough sleeping across the UK at the earliest opportunity.

"We'll get to work immediately, bringing together national and local government with the investment needed to get it done."

The Labour leader made a similar pledge as Greater Manchester mayor, although he failed to achieve this.

This week Zain - optometrist from Vision on the Go - came to give free eye tests to our visitors. 15 eye tests done, with glasses ready in 2 weeks. Fantastic!

We have some great people to thank for helping our charity! Diamond Interiors donated new office chairs - they connected with us through Chorley Council's social value scheme. These are fantastic, thank you so much.

We also needed to dispose of the very old chairs that were being replaced. Thank you to everyone who responded so quickly when we asked on Chorley Life, and a huge thanks to Lostock Skip Hire Ltd 👍👍👍

This week we celebrate Small Charity Week, a national campaign to recognise the vital role small charities play in communities across the UK.
Chorley Help the Homeless was first established by members of local voluntary groups in the 1990s, and has adapted over the years to continue serving the needs of the homeless and financially struggling in Chorley. Our current venue is a Community Café drop-in centre.
We would not have been able to survive and continue our vital services for the last 30 years without your support -- the generosity of individuals, businesses, churches and schools who support small charities. Thank you to everyone who supports Chorley Help the Homeless, whether you volunteer, fundraise, donate or help spread the word about our work.
