📸 OFFICIAL PHOTOS: Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge 🥾
“What I experienced for one day is just a tiny fraction of what some of the children and families face every single day - and yet they continue to show such incredible strength and smiles.” ✨
A Darwen mum has revealed how she battled the “biggest blisters” she has ever seen in a gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge - to raise funds for Derian House, the Chorley-based hospice that cares for her son 🫶
The mega event brought together more than 200 supporters from 10 hospices across Lancashire and South Cumbria, including St Catherine’s (Preston) and St John’s (Lancaster), on Saturday, 5 September 🤩
Naomi James-Crook was among a Derian House team of 25 families and supporters who tackled the Three Peaks, raising £13,376.18 for the hospice and the vital care it provides to children and families 💫
The challenge put yoga teacher Naomi’s strength and balance to the test, as she and her fellow hikers had just one day to attempt to conquer Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, covering 24 miles and climbing a punishing 5,200 feet ⛰
Alongside Derian House, the hospices that took part in the challenge were East Lancashire Hospice, Pendleside Hospice, St Mary’s Hospice, Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice, Queenscourt Hospice, St Catherine’s Hospice, St John’s Hospice and Rossendale Hospice 🥰
A huge thanks to everyone that took part in our first-ever ‘Hospices Together’ mega event! You’re all superstars 💚
