Every Tuesday at Charlbury Memorial Hall
Hi 👋
I'm Emily and I'm the creator of Love Dance Academy
I grew up in Appleton village and have lived happily in West Oxfordshire ever since. I have been working as a dance teacher for over ten years and am now lucky enough to be able to launch my own academy in Charlbury and some other local areas 😊
My classes are designed to be inclusive to all children and abilities aged 2-12 years. I will be teaching a fusion class of fundamental Modern dance technique, Lyrical and Commercial Jazz styles, as well as creative movement. The classes are the perfect space for your child to gain strength and technique, while also exploring their own creativity and style.

Classes will take place at 📍 Charlbury Memorial Hall every Tuesday as follows:
✨ TUESDAYS ✨
Babies (ages 2 & 3) 3.30-4pm
Minis (4-6 years) 4.15-5pm
Juniors Level 1 (7-9 years) 5-6pm
Juniors Level 2 (10-12 years) 6-7pm
Free trials are available in all classes!
Other locations are also available:
📍 Ducklington
📍 Eynsham
If you would like to reserve a free trial space, have any specific questions about levels, fees or alternative location please COMMENT BELOW and I will send you full details 😊
You can browse my website or Instagram for more information too ⬇️

I'm also aiming to host some community events once I'm up and running so keep your eyes peeled 👀

Saturday 21st March: Bring OR Take in Memorial Hall from 9.30am to 12pm.

BRING items from between 9.30 and 10.15am and TAKE anything you want free of charge from between 10am and 12 noon. You don't have to bring something in order to take something, so please just pop-in to take away anything you like.
BRING spare but usable items you no longer want: household items, clothes, children's toys, DVDs, books, bikes, curtains, garden tools, flower & vegetable seeds, etc, etc.

PLEASE DON'T BRING PAINT, TILES, KNIVES, OR CHILD CAR SEATS.

Plug-in electrical items have to have been PAT-tested by us in advance, so bring them to 3 Crawborough Villas ONE WEEK BEFORE on Saturday 14 March between 11-12 ONLY. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PLUG-IN ELECTRICAL ITEMS ON THE DAY OF THE BRING OR TAKE.

Bring a photo of large items to put on the notice board rather than bring them along on the day.

You can also bring along old spectacles, unwanted bras, used printer ink cartridges, dead batteries, broken lightbulbs, and used water filter cartridges - please put them in the boxes by the door.

Items are given and taken FREE so please respect this community spirit by not taking things for resale or scrap value. Leftovers are given to charities or Freecycled.

Photos might be taken during the event, so if you don't want to be photographed then please contact Janet or Christine.
Volunteers are vital for this event - if you would like to help sort things out as they are brought in and put onto tables, and more importantly help sort stuff out at the end, and even drive to charity shop in Witney, then please contact Christine Elliott 01608 811057.

Thursday 19 March in the Memorial Hall at 7pm.
Talk by Val Bourne on Dahlias

To encourage our members to enter our September Annual Show with their favourite dahlias, the Garden Society has arranged for Val Bourne to give us a talk about dahlias.

Val has been a member of RHS judging panels and committees and is an active member of several plant societies. Val judged the Dahlias Trial for over ten years and has a hundred or so on her allotment. She is proud to be the President of the Hardy Plant Society.
Free to members - Non-members £3

For more information, see our Events page at:
https://www.charlburygardensociety.org.uk/events/talk-on-dahlias/
This event will also be an opportunity for members who haven't done so already to renew their subscription for 2026, and for new members to join us!
You can also do this online in advance of the talk, all the details can be found on our Membership page here: http://www.charlburygardensociety.org.uk/membership/

... and last but not least, your membership will enable the Society to promote and support projects and activities which enhance the green areas and horticultural interest of Charlbury as a town for the benefit of all who live here.

Thursday 12 March at 6.30pm in the Memorial Hall.

Power Station film screening

Power Station tells the heartwarming and often funny story of a community project that turned an ordinary residential street in Northeast London into a producer of solar electricity.
The film follows Walthamstow-based artists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn as they gain local support and raise the funds needed to put solar panels on the rooves of 30 homes in their neighbourhood.
Power Station is about neighbours, persistence, and small steps adding up to something meaningful. By the end, it leaves you feeling hopeful—and maybe wondering what could happen on your own street if people decided to work together. It also makes you laugh.
Doors open with bar at 6pm. Film starts at 6.30pm. Stay with us for what promises to be a lively Q&A session with filmaker Dan Edelstyn at 8.15pm. Event ends at 8.45 pm.
Tickets £5 in advance, £7 on the door. Sponsored by Sustainable Charlbury, click for tickets: https://sustainablecharlbury.org/news-and-views/solar-energy-revolution-in-your-street/ https://www.tickettailor.com/events/sustainablecharlbury/2037392
